The Beast Within Chapter 1 Novels & Stories

“Begin.” The seam split wider and filled with fire. Not Araya’s living, singing Hollowflame. This burn sounded like breath held too long and released through clenched teeth. The heat peeled back the air in thin, clear sheets. Shadows stepped from the walls and waited at a polite distance. “Step in,” the Beast said. “Or leave as you came.” I had left too many things unchanged. I stepped in. The fire did not climb my skin; it crawled in my memory.

“Then we hold until there’s no one left to drown.” The Beast inside him stirred at the sight, surging against its chains. It relished this—the chaos, the chance to rend and tear without limit. Maxim braced himself, drawing breath, forcing control. The ritual had given him strength, yes, but it had also thinned the barrier. Each oath-bound soul was another tug at his restraint. Their fear was his fear, their hunger his hunger. And the Beast was very, very hungry. The first wave struck.

She was choking herself on his command, her eyes pleading with me even as her hands tightened. "A lesson in obedience," the girl’s mouth said, Malphas’s voice echoing in the room. "Eat your dinner, Alice. Or the next one to die will be the boy in the woods." The girl collapsed to the floor, gasping for air as the silver light left her eyes. She scrambled away from me, terrified, and ran out of the room. --- ### The Beast’s Arrival I couldn't eat. I sat by the window, watching the red moon rise. The three days passed in a blur of terror and isolation. Every hour, the violet mark on my neck grew dimmer. Every hour, I felt more like a "Product" and less like a person.

He stretched painfully against the chain to get hold of her but she was beyond his reach. After several attempts to break free, the beast paused. He bent while breathing hard. Blood dripped down from where the silver chains had bitten into his flesh. They stared at each other in utter silence. His eyes held unrestrained hunger. She was the prey and he was her predator. Rosalie backed a step away and the beast growled in warning. Adrenaline crashed through her, prompting her to spin on her heels. She heard a loud growl thundering down on her as she raced away from the monster. The air was filled with the frightful noise of iron clashing against each other as the monster wrestled the chains to

My eyes fought to see as the gigantic trees cast a dark, shadowy pathway for me to run. I glanced behind me as I trudged forward, looking for somewhere to hide. The footsteps behind me got closer and closer the more I ran. I made a left turn and collided with the shadowy figure that had been chasing me. The impact of the hit made me land on my ass, and before I could regain my composure, it lunged at me. Its eyes gleamed golden, and its teeth sharpened to points. It looked like a man, but it wasn't. It was a beast in the skin of Dominic. *Beeeep Beeeeeep*

I was helpless. My beast roared within me. Instinct told me to transform, but the moment my body began to shift, consciousness ebbed away. I collapsed, enveloped in grasping hands. Screaming jaws snapped all around me. I struggled against the pressure beating my body down. Claws dug into my fur, teeth buried in my neck, and the stench of burning oil suffocated me. I couldn’t fight back against whatever it was taking me over. They were beginning to rip me apart, and I could already feel it in my limbs and chest and in my brow, where my horn was wrenched free from my skull.

It gives him a few seconds before the hounds decide attacking is their best move. They might have gained some newfound intelligence, but Beast is smart and has had years of practice. Our eyes carry bloodlust, our bodies made for killing. Beast's claws rake a wide path across one throat and chest. It's not a killing blow, but the hound lists to the side and the other jumps around him. It's almost like he's protecting the hurt creature. Beast lets out a growl that rumbles clear to our feet and charges head-on. We clash and the hound goes to the ground with Beast on top. We grab his neck within our crushing jaws and crunch bone. The other hound lands on top of us, his snapping jaws taking a bit

The beast was the size of a small vehicle, its golden eyes burning like twin suns in the dark as it sprinted down the sand, its razor-sharp claws digging deep into the beach. Dominic approached the fallen white intruder with the lethal, merciless caution of an apex predator ready to tear an enemy's throat out. But as Clara watched from the deck, the ancestral bloodline of the Keepers of the Northern Fire within her veins began to throb violently. It felt as if a physical string was pulling her heart toward the dying beast on the shore. Her inner wolf didn't sense a threat; it sensed a tragedy. Ignoring Dominic’s command, Clara ran down the steps, her bare feet flying across the cold, damp sa

“It shows us evil creatures beyond the wolves ' understanding. Beings that skittered through the soil when power is being altered.” I frowned, trying to find a reason for calling the book absurd as Briony sprawled each page open. “And you think….this is what's happening?” Briony bit her lip before pressing into a thin certain page of the book as though she was more visual than us. “The great beast is missing.” She exclaimed, her statement making me more confused. “What is that?” I asked, my tone already trembling. “The beast found in page 119 of this book had only once escaped this book, which led to the ruining of an entire clan seven hundred years ago.” Briony's words stinging fear into my
