Anything would have been better than the constant torment and torture my body was going through. But then the cavern grew even brighter than before, and I wanted to curse the Goddess for what she was putting me through. Killian glanced up before backing away slowly, and I let out a whimper at the distance. I couldn't tell if it was horror or awe in his wide eyes. The glowing red of his beast was focused on the Earth around me, and I began to convulse. My mind was under attack as I felt my wolf fighting for control against the unknown creature inside me.

CHAPTER ONE -WILHELMINA- The storm was a monstrous entity, a simmering chaos that loomed above the forest. It seemed to echo the tumultuous fury within my heart, thundering with all the passion and determination that drove me forward. Despite the storm’s rage, I pushed on, my paws sinking into the sodden earth with each determined step. Suddenly, there it was - amidst the riotous weather and foreboding wilderness - a shimmering glint caught my eye.

She said regretfully “The Alpha was very insistent that he be informed the moment you woke up. He’s throwing a feast for you.” I blinked “A feast?” Annalise nodded. Before I could say anything else, she was up and out of my room, likely to deliver the said news of my return to consciousness. I dragged myself out of bed to make myself more presentable. The inside of my mouth felt stale and my limbs twinged when I started to use them again but aside that, I was fine. I tried not to think of the fact that I’d turned into a beast and killed two men without blinking. It would shatter my fragile sense of self right now and I so needed to feel like myself again.

"And where do you think you're going?" A voice said behind them and they turned. It was Charles and some other guys. There was this dangerous aura around him as he fixed his eyes on the trio. "You have to watch out for the demons. They'll be after you now that your identity has been revealed and they'll try to kill more humans than before to bring back the war beast as soon as possible..." Priestess Luciana's words rang a bell in Ashley's ears. Moving a step forward, she said, "What now? What do you want huh?". A smirk appeared on her lips as she questioned the confident looking Charles.

She spun around quickly, crossing her arms protectively over her exposed chest. “I…I’m sorry…I got worried—I’m sorry,” Evan apologized. “Wow,” He repeated under his breath. He ran a shaky hand through his thick, dark hair. “The Beast isn’t so much of a beast, now is she?” Kat heard the comment and immediately regained her composure. With one arm still over her breasts, she turned back to face him. “Is that so?” She bared her teeth at him before she pushed the door—along with him—closed. “And stay out!” She yelled through the door.

The wolf shifted. Bones cracked softly as Rowan stepped forward and transformed. His massive frame rose upright as the fur receded into his skin. Within seconds the Alpha stood before the shrine in his human form, tall and commanding with the same cold authority that once ruled the pack she had belonged to. Rowan’s gaze never left Lyra. “So it is true.” His voice carried across the clearing with quiet intensity. Lyra met his stare without hesitation. “You felt the awakening.” Rowan nodded slowly. “The council felt it.” His eyes flickered briefly toward the glowing altar before returning to her face. “I expected to find a trick.” Lyra raised her glowing wrist slightly. “Does that look like a

Nicola sat at the old wooden table in her mother’s house, the dim candlelight flickering over the pages of the book Cedric had given her. The air was thick with unspoken words. Her fingers trembled as she turned the page, her breath shallow. The words written in faded ink stared back at her. "The first step was made. The blood holds the key. The beast within is not a curse - it is a door. And I will be the one to open it."

She sits up straight in her chair, leaning in. I nod. “Well, imagine something like one of those beasts—the long snout, pointy fangs, enormous tongue that doesn’t quite fit, uncontrollable slobbering, mangy fur, and these evil-looking unholy eyes. Imagine being caught somewhere between that wolf-like creature and a human. Mangled, twisted bones set at strange angles with patches of skin and tufts of fur.” I shake my head, my stomach turning just thinking about it. No, I can’t allow her to see me. Bexley isn’t leaning away from me. She doesn’t get up and dart out the door. Instead, she reaches a hand across the table. My paw lies within her reach. I want to pull it away, but I don’t.
