I paused when my fingers landed on the book I had been previously reading, the one the King had told me specifically to stay away from. Without much thought, I grabbed the book and turned to the chapter I had last stopped on, it was called soulmates to the beast. I read for what felt like hours about what the villagers thought about the beast and I found myself growing more and more afraid, the more and more I read. He had wiped out villages all around the castle in a rampage of anger, he killed thousands of people and left their bodies in the street and only stopped once the sun began to rise again and the sky became painted as red as the blood on his body.

And since he had been a real-life human man, she had chalked the whole 'seeing a beast-like monster man' to a fever dream. But now, here.. Adam is a beast. Not in the insulting, he has horrible manners kind of way. But in the actual, he turns into a fucking animal kind of way! The black beast growls deep and with a heavy lunge, he attacks Adam with a heavy snap of his jaws. Adam growls as well and the two large beasts attack each other. Bella watches as they lunge at one another. Blood spurts and yelps ring out. Bella moves away from them, edging towards the house. She spots Chad standing by the counter in the kitchen and she half crawls, half runs to get to him.

The pleasant evening breeze or the mixed scent of flowers it carried didn’t hold their attention. Giselle tried to feel the bond and failed. She’d been trying for the past few weeks. “Antonio, what happens after the first shift?” She asked, curious to figure out her son’s situation. “The beast is like an entirely different personality which lives inside you. The first time it shows up it is really hard to cling to your sanity, the beast thirsts for blood and meat. It will hunt and destroy anything in its path.” Antonio sighed as he recalled his first shift.

That’s when it goes black! I wake up with the strongest headache in the world. Did I drink last night? The brightness of the sun glared in my eyes. As soon as my eyes adjusted, I could see that I was in the forest, but it was different! The forest around me was leveled! There were scorch marks in the ground that looked like big footprints! The footprints looked inhuman. I looked at my hands and saw blood, but it wasn’t my blood! “What the hell?” I asked myself before I spotted Binx, he looked terrified! “Binx… what the hell…” I began to ask but then he let out a hiss, his fur fluffed up. “What the fuck?”

Unconsciously I had buried my hands in his fur and stroked him. The beast halted and drew back. I held my breath in dread but he only observed me. Just when I thought I had seen enough unhinged phenomena to last me a lifetime the Beast brought his arm to his mouth and tore his flesh open. I screamed and struggled to get away from the Beast but instead, he pressed his bleeding arm on my face.

Xavier's POV I had just reached home. As I entered the house, everyone either scurried away or bow their head at me in fear. Everyone knows the monster has awakened. Growls left my lips as I sped my way up to mine and Bella's room. As I enter the room her scent feels up my nostrils calming me up a bit. But as I took in the sight in front of me, I started to growl. It was as if there was a struggle. Things were messed up.

What the hell is happening here? “What the fuck?” I say. Is this some kind of prank that Victor’s decided to pull? He should know that we are not in high school anymore, and this kind of behaviour is nothing but stupid. I don’t understand what this means, but I know it’s nothing good. I don’t know what to do. Should I touch the book? Should I even go near it? What if something bad happens to me if I do touch the book? The book finally stops moving, and it stays on one page. There’s an image in the book. I look hard at what’s being portrayed, and it’s the image of a beast with large horns.
