My heartbeat returned to normal,but my breath still came out in quick shallow puffs. I was tempted to raise my head, I did just that. I immediately regretted it. Someone dressed in black was looking through the window of the car beside mine. The Lower part of his face was hidden in a black mask. He turned around and looked at me. With a gasp I ducked down, my breath catching in my throat, blood roaring in my ears. A thief! A masked thief ...i had seen with my eyes! My heart beat nearly stopped when I heard someone try to open the door of the car. My breathing automatically stopped as the person tried harder to open the door.

"She deserved it! She was so terrified with the rabid dogs barking all around her, even sending a voice message where she was crying so pathetically!" Hearing that, my departed soul turned away, smiling miserably. He was the one who had said he loved me, promising to protect me for the rest of my life and vowing that no one would get to lay a finger on me. He had smiled at me so lovingly when he passed me the black rose seeds. "It is believed that black roses embody a deep and timeless love, just like the love I share with you." Yet, he had a change of heart and loved Lara instead, believing her one-sided claims that I had led a workplace ostracising campaign against her.

Scarlett’s POV He told me at dusk. I had just finished pointing out a minor route change on his map, one that could probably save his eastern patrols nearly three days of food supply. He hadn’t said anything to me at first, just stared at me, there was a strange calm behind his eyes. Then, without hesitation, he said, “I’ll be leaving before sunrise. The Blackmoon Pack has defied my direct orders.” My body stilled, my fingers halted on the paper. ”They defied you? How?”

I lifted one end of the bed and slide out the red journal. I switched off the lights, draw the curtains and laid on the bed. I opened the book’s middle and start reading. The yellow lamps on each table shelf being my light source. ‘”Please, I don’t want to do this. My mom has warned me against guys like you.” She pants as she wriggles her hands, trying to loosen the rope. “Really? What are the things she warned you against us about?” Jayden flips her folds with his right thumb, his other hand caressing her plum breast.

Krister asked, looking at his tablet still before walking to the back room. “Black? She doesn’t-- I mean didn’t wear anything else?” she asked, her eyebrows meeting in the middle confused. “Don’t tell me she’s one of those people…” “Yes, specifically black clothing. They’re hot in the day but you disappear in the night. That’s what she always said to me.” Krister disappeared in the back to get something whilst Rojean was left there to contemplate on her own how she was going to pull the act off if she was a bad liar herself.

When the lady who sold flowers asked her, "Which flowers would you like to buy?" Melissa couldn't say a word but simply stared into space. She simply walked over to the section where the black rose was displayed. Alex didn't usually play with the black rose and the rose signified love and strength. As she took a whiff of the black rose, she stared at it as something that strengthened their love for each other even in his death. And when the lady who sold flowers told her the price, Melissa didn't say a word but immediately dropped a stash of cash and left.

I brushed my thumb over the petal and explained, “Why black rose? I want to know.” His eyes were fixated on the rose in my hand as he swallowed before opening his mouth, “Because nothing depicts me better than a black rose. The black rose is a symbolic flower with multiple meanings and interpretations. It represents intensity, darkness, passion, rebellion, and dominance, all of which resonate with my personality. A black rose is also a symbol of mystery, unknown, and unrequited feelings, which perfectly portrays whatever is between us.”

Marco drove into the gates of La Rosa Nera. The club's neon lights cast an eerie shadow over everything they touched. The club's pathway was a spectacle to behold. An archway adorned with beautiful black roses that resonated with the name of the club, La Rosa Nera (The Black Rose). The petals of these gorgeous flowers glittered and danced under the night sky. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of expensive perfume and a fading sensation of danger that lingered.

"From this moment forward, if any of you wishes to touch me... you will have to go through the other two first. I am no longer the prize. I am the game." She paused, her thumb tracing the inner band of the platinum ring on her finger. "And remember this... in ninety days, I will return to New York. By then, the world will know who is the master and who is the dog. I suggest you all spend that time wisely." The frequency cut to black. The Black Rose fleet turned in unison, their hulls angling downward as they dived into the thermal layers where no radar could follow. They vanished into the blind spots of the world.

As I blink a few times, I only feel his hand at the back of my body before pulling me closer towards him; letting my body fall onto his, once I've lost all control before meeting the darkness. Forget me, Rose. It'll ease the pain.
