Too many for even Morgana's magic to handle. The first wave hit like a wall of darkness. Claws raked across my shoulder. Teeth found the gap in my fire-shield. Eva cut in dismissively. No thanks. Nothing. And Damon frowned, his gaze deeming those crossed arms and that barricading stance unnecessary. But then, he quickly brushed it off and turned to me. “I missed a few details,” he lowered his voice and leaned closer, “Alpha Black was stabbed. A silver dagger.” My time stopped. My mind went blank. The noise cut to silence and my body went numb. And then, Eva’s cries snapped me back. “What the fuck are you doing? What’s Hunter Black trying again? Get away from her!”

I wondered as I picked it up. Just as I pulled it out from its resting place, I heard a small thump behind it. I looked into the bookshelf to see an old black book had fallen behind the ones in front. Setting the one in my hand on a little wooden table next to me, I picked up the black book. I took in a sharp inhale of breath when I saw the same detailed pattern that was on the dagger Kyan had shown me. ‘The hunters’ was all it said on the front, the same book Kyan and Zekan had spent days looking for.
