The curtain had stopped moving. “Maybe it uses the back.” Mrs. Blythe’s eyes moved toward the east side of the building. “There is a side entrance.” The path around the building was overgrown, but not impassable. Wet weeds brushed Violet’s ankles. The gravel turned to mud beneath her shoes.

The garden was colorful with various and vibrant green, yellow, lavender, orange, peach, pink and read flowers blooming everywhere. It was spring so all the plants were shinning and healthy. I put my bunny down and went to pluck a blueberry off from it's thorn, I threw one into my mouth and gave one to Sparkles. I spotted an hibiscus flower blooming on the other side of the garden, I ran over and gently pulled it out of the rest of the flower patch, I gently tucked my hair behind my ears and placed the hibiscus behind my ears in between my hair.

Victoria stood in the garden and looked at the violets she had planted long ago. The flowers looked even more delicate and beautiful than she remembered. In the past she had spent hours admiring them, wasting her time while waiting for a knight in shining armor to come and save her. This time she would not wait for anyone.

I smiled, seeing my Monkshood growing steadfast. With a smile, I plucked a few tulips and organized them into a beautiful bouquet. I went back inside and looked for an empty vase.

*** The southern garden was a maze. Vapor had invaded, the advance guard of Eden's storm. Violet knew he had to be inside somewhere. She felt him calling. She plunged into the carefully pruned shrubs soaring over her head. Their leaves were slick with beads of water. Her curls soon collected the same appearance the deeper she went. She came to a fork in the path and went left. More twists and turns. She chose a sharp right. Dead end. She retreated and tried going right at the fork. Two more dead ends waited for Violet.

Sade POV I rang the bell of the house and waited outside, taking a deep breath of confidence. The glow of the lamps in the garden cast a soft glow on the white marble walls of the manor. Hydrangeas fluttered in the cool wind and vines of orange and red bell-flowers that hung from the rooftop swayed, their fragrance wafting in the air. Jealousy shredded my heart. Violet had a dream-like existence, but I would soon make it a living nightmare.

“Oh, save the greetings, dear; you're in my house now.” Shockingly, she embraced me, and my arms were left to decide what they wanted to do. “Please, Morty, get Miss Violetta something to drink.” I watched as the young maid disappeared through the entrance I took. An eerie feeling came over me, putting me into more discomfort. “Come, dear. You must see where my hibiscus flowers are planted.” She started walking towards the other end of the garden. I followed, walking slower than her graceful legs were carrying her until we got to what I presumed was the middle of the garden. There, the hibiscus bush bloomed beautifully in its space.
