We didn't have this back in the my pack but my uncle always got me books to read. Eager to explore, I set off down the aisles, my fingers grazing the spines of countless books. Each one seemed to whisper its secrets to me, beckoning me further into the labyrinth of knowledge. I couldn't contain my excitement as I selected my first book, feeling its rough texture beneath my fingertips. I found a comfortable spot in a cozy nook, nestled among the towering shelves, and began to lose myself in the words.

No need for another awkward conversation. Once in my room, I hop back in bed and take my book off my nightstand and start reading. Currently, I'm reading the series called 'A Court of Thorns and Roses'.

I look forward to being a well known writer like, Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie, the late legend; Chinua Achebe, Nnedi Okorafor, Wole Soyinka, Colleen Hoover, Ted dekker, Sidney sheldon, Dean Koontz and so many others. I don't think I have ever seen anyone who reads wild like I do. My love for books is out of this world, I just purely love good books, like really really good books with awesome plots. I can't be spotted anywhere without holding a novel. I was about to read one, 'Home coming' by Yaa Gyasi.

“Since you’re back, are you going to pick the next book?” I blinked. “Me?” “Of course,” she said, smiling. “You’ve been gone. You deserve the honor.” Everyone nodded expectantly. I looked down at the stack of books on the table, my fingers brushing across their covers. My hand paused on a novel about love, identity and societal expectations. This book will give them a glimpse of what I passed through during my absence. I smiled softly. “How about this one?” Brent groaned. “Oh no, not another depressing tragedy. Can’t we read something with a hopeful romance?”

I entered mine, went through the three books I had gotten from the store, and set them down on the bed. I folded my arms and read their names. The Claiming Rites, Finding the One, and Under the Red Moon. There was no order in which anyone should read these books, so I sat down and picked up The Claiming Rites. After an hour, I finished reading. The book made zero sense, and then I picked up Finding the One and spent another hour reading through it. While the first book was incomplete, the second made a little more sense. I picked up the third, which I had gone to Zion’s room with. I took my time reading, and another hour went by.

I refused to give him the satisfaction of a reaction. He moved to the bed and stretched out on his stomach. "Whenever you're ready." "Actually," I hesitated. "I didn't expect us to do this today. I don't have any of my books with me." He pointed toward a bookshelf I hadn't noticed earlier. "Help yourself." I scanned the titles. Business theory, economics, biographies of tech moguls. "I don't read these kinds of books." "What do you read?" "I only read romance."
