I will not leave. I thought as the first one charged, I met them in the middle, ending them quickly. The second attacked, and the third. I quickly became overwhelmed. Knowing that this was my final stand, I embraced it. Just as I was thrown to the ground, a distant howl came down from the mountain, making them all freeze. I was hurt badly, but not enough to recognize that howl. It sounded like music to my beaten body. Alexander called to me again, this time desperate. I let out a soft cry in reply, as loud as I could. I heard a roar, a skin-crawling, teeth-chattering howl.

Praying to the Highest One that the key was for the door, I picked it up and tried to unlock the door. It worked! I saw a tap outside and hurried to go there to wash my hands. My tears shed and dampened my face. I must return to the Wild Wolves Pack. But where was I? Suddenly, I felt an immense pain in my belly. Oh, no! Taking a deep breath, praying my pup would stay safe, I sat on the ground.

Chapter 5- Grace The truck finally comes to a stop and I lifted my head, the sky slightly darker as the sun begins to set. By the smell of many wolves congregating together that we have finally reached our destination, The Run. The engine is turned off as I watch wolves walk by the truck. Some call out to their friends while others walked over and peer into the back where the cages that held me and Amelia in to see if we are good mate candidates. I can hear the she-wolf beside me growl at those curious to see who were held and couldn’t help but roll my eyes.

She reminds me of my mate, her strong character and determination. It takes us a little longer as we need to be a little more careful with the children riding our wolves. The sun had just started to rise as we saw the first sign of Tatum’s pack, both children had long fallen asleep. The little boy, Samuel had let out the occasional whimper clearly having a bad dream. We slow as we reach the outer perimeter of the pack, both children wake up and slide to the forest floor, still sleepy and confused. We quickly shift, get changed and move forward. It doesn't take long before the Alpha appears looking relieved.

My head snapped up at Amelia's snarl, watching in horror as her massive white form lunged for my throat.
