The ceiling arched high overhead like the inside of a cathedral carved from shadow. At the center of the room, a massive holographic table glowed to life as they approached. A map formed in the air. Not a simulation grid.

Torches along the walls ignited on their own as we stepped forward. The flames burned cold blue. Dren flinched. “Nope. Fire should not be blue unless magic or poison is involved.” Mara scanned the hall. “What’s this place?” “The Chamber of Unanswered Names,” Bastion answered quietly. “Where the vault keeps the echoes of those who entered but never finished their trials.”

We got to the chamber, and I noticed it was small, which was weird. “This will be your chamber. It contains two rooms, two restrooms, a kitchen and a living room. As for your men, their chamber is behind this one. You can take a goodnight rest, your bags are already here,” he said, opening the door. I entered, and the chamber was spacious and it smells good.

But what made Matthew shocked was the object in the middle. It was a chamber that could fit a single person inside. There were multiple wires and tubes attached to the base of it. There were also a lot of scattered tools and other materials on the ground. “What the hell is this?” Matthew asked himself as he inspected the chamber while carefully stepping over the wires. The chamber was crudely made as if the person that created it just screwed a bunch of metal plates and steel rods together. Strangely enough, Matthew couldn’t find anything like a control panel.

The ceiling was open as moonlight poured directly into the chamber from above. The silver light gloomed over everything, casting a soft glow… The floor was covered in glowing runes. This looked like some sort of ritual circle..? The designs on the runes, the glowing lights…it looked beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Selene walked up beside me. “This is the Moon Chamber.” The moon chamber..? Huh? I swallowed down a hard lump and asked.. “What do I do?” “Well. Simple..shift.” Shift and simple in the same sentence…thay didn’t seem right.
