The Noise Tax

The Noise Tax

My father loved silence. He believed noise was the mark of lesser people, so he installed a decibel meter in our home. Speaking above 40 decibels meant that we would have to pay him 10 dollars, laughing above 60 decibels meant 50 dollars, and crying or throwing a tantrum was a serious offense at 100 dollars per second. The year I turned four, I fell and broke my arm. I did not make a single sound. I bit down so hard that I cracked two teeth, but I saved thousands in noise fees. He praised me for it and called me a "high-value child," one that was worth the investment. I treasured that compliment and observed the rules carefully, keeping the house wrapped in suffocating silence. Then came the stormy night a thief broke in. He had a knife and was creeping toward my mother as she slept, and I watched it all from the gap in the wardrobe where I was hiding. I wanted to scream. I wanted to shriek and wake my father, to do something, anything. However, my eyes drifted to the decibel meter on the wall, and my hand found nothing but an empty pocket. I did not have enough allowance. One scream would cost hundreds, and I simply could not afford it.

There is a voice that repeatedly calls my name. When I leave the convent and stay in this old house, I do not think I will see strange creatures and socialize with them.

The Forbidden Romance

The Forbidden Romance

For centuries, werewolves and Lycans have not been able to coexist. Lycans believed that werewolves are not meant to exist and that they must be destroyed and killed. Both sides were forbidden to have anything to do with each other and failure to adhere to the rules would lead to death or war between both Packs. Those were the rules Liam Simmons was raised under. To follow the rules and punish those who do not obey the rules. Making sure the rules were not broken was part of his plans as the next heir to the Lycan's throne, until he met a helpless girl trapped in a Lycan's trap. What would Liam do to the helpless wolf when his Lycan would do anything to protect his mate?/ Penelope Jenkins never expected to be trapped in this mess while attempting to flee from her attackers. She had planned to take a stroll and then return home, but everything changed when the Lycans attacked and she found herself running for her life, only to end up in one fo the traps with a Lycan staring at her with the desire to kill her. Strangely she found herself being relaxed and yearning for the Lycan in front of her instead of being scared. She couldn't understand what she was feeling, given that they were sworn enemies. Both are unable to control their desires and feelings for one another. But rules are meant to be broken right? Will both of them fight against the rules that have been on for centuries? Will they be able to bring peace to both Packs, or will they be the catalyst for a war?

Mrs. Martinelli The Perfect Mafia Wife

Mrs. Martinelli The Perfect Mafia Wife

Love For The Wicked Book Three. In my eyes, the world is a huge sandbox created for the big boys. Girls, money, business… and I always strive to come out on top until my father gave me an ultimatum. I needed to find a wife, or I’d lose my rights to the family business. I found the perfect woman for the scheme I devised, of course. She was beautiful, feisty, the picture-perfect wife to make my father believe I was done playing games. In return, she needed a favor, the kind that takes nine months to deliver. The rules were laid out meticulously, from the no touching to fake falling in love. After a year, we would part ways amicably with no hassle, no demands, and no regrets; after all, it was all just a game. As my plan took its course, it dawned on me that playing house was a game I never should have played. She started to grow on me, from that sexy little pout to the late nightcap, the endless dirty banter, and even the fights we had. I realize I enjoyed having her around. Trouble is, how will I make her believe I am not playing games anymore? That I don’t want her to be just my contract wife, that I don’t want twelve months with her but more?

Another great book by this author. I enjoyed reading the first two books (Devin and Ethan). Loved this story with Klaus and Rylee. Had my heart beating so quickly at times. Felt their heartache when they had trouble getting pregnant, and was glad they were finally blessed.

Sharing A Roof With Trouble

Sharing A Roof With Trouble

The Rowan estate has stood for centuries, its walls bearing witness to generations of triumph, tragedy, and a quiet, inescapable weight. Known for influence and misfortune, the Rowans guard a secret: the house is a memory vessel, absorbing the emotions and events of its inhabitants. Only one child per generation—“the one who carries it”—feels its imprint. For Jace Rowan, that child is him. Haunted by flashes of his brother Elias’s mysterious death in the sealed west wing, Jace lives with hallucination-like memories, déjà vu, and a physical sensitivity to the house’s presence. When Ava arrives at the estate, the house takes notice. Her father’s disappearance connects her unknowingly to the Rowans, and her grief fuels an emotional resonance the house cannot ignore. Objects from her past—her father’s watch, sketches of the west wing, and a brass key—materialize mysteriously before her, drawing Ava deeper into the estate’s labyrinth of memory. Jace knows the danger: the west wing reacts to emotion, and Ava’s connection could awaken truths meant to remain buried. As tension mounts, Ava and Jace confront both the house’s power and their own growing fears. The west wing does not seek to harm but to claim understanding—feeding on memory, fear, and revelation. In the shadows, a presence lingers, one that Jace fears is connected to Ava’s father. Bound by fear, curiosity, and an unspoken attraction, Ava and Jace must navigate a house that remembers, reacts, and judges, uncovering secrets about Elias’s death, Ava’s father, and the legacy of the Rowan family itself. In a world where emotion is power and the past is never truly gone, the house holds its breath—and waits to see who will survive its memory.

REJECTED: Hired to Breed

REJECTED: Hired to Breed

"Spread your legs, little omega slut," he said to me. "I am sorry, there are rules here, sir. We do not sleep with customers here." "Who made those rules?" he asked, whirling the wine in his glass. "The owner of this place," I replied, irritated by all the unnecessary questions. "Who is the owner of this place?" "Mr. Killian Cabello." I replied tersely. This man was arrogant and wanted to defile the rules to show me he could do whatever he wanted. He took out a card from his pocket and handed it to me. "I usually do not give out my card to the likes of you but look at it." I looked at the card and saw his name written boldly on it. He was the owner of this place. He made those rules and is willing to break them now? My eyes widened at the realization. I looked at him. "You are Killian Cabello?" He smirked devilishly. "Now, spread your legs, Omega."
