The bell above the diner door jingled again, letting in a rush of cold morning air and more customers escaping the rain outside filtered in laughing softly amongst themselves, shaking umbrellas dry while the scent of wet clothes, coffee, and syrup thickened inside the diner.
That was my cue to actually start moving.
