Her Chosen Mate

Her Chosen Mate

"What are you thinking this hard?" "Nothing.", I muttered, but she gave me 'I'm not going to buy your lie,' a look on which I sighed before speaking. "About an animal who has a pair of almond eyes and the color of one eye is golden while the color of the other eyes is red.", I lied immediately as the color of Rebecca's face drained. "I know you are going to tell me that this is not possible and all those lectures, but I really saw those eyes." . #TBC

Falling Stardust

Falling Stardust

Verra said Matter-of-a-factly. She took a sip from the glass of white ginger tea that she brought in with her then continued, "Maybe what you have isn't just the Eye Of Truth." Xasha seemingly gave up on staring at his eyes in the mirror. He walked to his bed and sat down. Looking at Verra he said, "well if it isn't the Eye Of Truth, I don't know what it is. It works just like any other Eye Of Truth, I can tell when somebody is lying, I can see things other people can't see like the color of one's soul and I can read and understand anything I see even if it's in another language.

An Eye for an Eye

An Eye for an Eye

Marcus stared at me immediately. There were flashes of shock, fear, and uneasiness in his eyes. I forced out a smile. "You know what I'm like. I've never lied to you. Besides, I don't know how to act. After all, you of all people know how tiring it is to put up an act, right?" Marcus didn't doubt me at all. He believed every word I said, just like how I once believed he'd remain loyal to me forever.

Lucifer's Redemption

Lucifer's Redemption

Mariah turned back to the sink, pretending to concentrate on her hands, but I knew better. Call it my gut instinct. Something was bothering her, and I had to know why. It was the same funny feeling I felt when my mom got really sad before I touched her. “What’s wrong?” My head leaned over the sink to look at her in the eyes. Eyes were the windows of the soul, they say, it’s hard for someone to look at you in the eye and not lie. They could dilate, they could twitch and look away. These things I noticed since coming to know my power of knowing if a lie was being told to me.

Great story, I’m a fan of mythology and this novel has an unique and interesting way of combining folk tales, pagan and Christian beliefs. I loved the story and the outlines of every character and it’s way of redemption/salvation.

Dear Ex-Husband, Revenge is Mine!

Dear Ex-Husband, Revenge is Mine!

“And besides, was I supposed to let them know that there’s a tension between us that won’t break unless you stop lying to my face?” It took a lot of work on my part, but now, I could tell when Iris was lying. It was all in her eyes. The way they would water slightly and look away from me. I confirmed it last night when I’d asked her to look me in the eye and tell me she wasn’t keeping anything from me. Iris was a bloody liar. “I’m not—”

Sinful Affairs

Sinful Affairs

“Being watched like this.” “It’s not watching,” I said. “It’s seeing and there’s a difference.” He didn’t say anything back, his eyes just followed my movements, probably wondering what I was seeing that he couldn’t. I let a minute pass before speaking again. “You hide things well.” He blinked. “What?” “Your eyes,” I said, sketching faster. “They tell stories, but not all of them belong to you. You’ve been carrying other people’s secrets too long.”

Break Me Heal Me

Break Me Heal Me

I promise you that you can go back to sleep immediately after you answer our questions,' Roy said as they both adjusted themselves so that they were facing me on the bed. I nervously rested my head on the headboard as I stared at their faces opposite me. Roman placed a hand on my left leg through the blanket. 'Raven, is there a secret that you are keeping from us?' Roman asked. 'Don't try to lie Raven. Your right eye does this winking thing when you lie, so I will know if you lie,' Roy said, and I nodded nervously. April had told me several times about that major weakness that I had. She said my right eye started winking continuously when I lied. I guess Roy and Roman had somehow caught on t

The Art of Revenge

The Art of Revenge

“Dr. Beckett, I swear I’m not lying. My eyes really can see through things—but only certain kinds of things.” Dr. Beckett listened with a pleasant smile, then pointed to the teacup in front of her. “Here, have some tea first.” His attitude made it clear: he didn’t believe her, but he didn’t want to embarrass her either. “Dr. Beckett, I’m telling the truth,” she said earnestly. “I came to the hospital today to figure out what’s going on with my eyes—why I suddenly have this ability. When that doctor asked what was wrong, I just told her the truth. My eyes don’t hurt or anything, but before I could explain, she jumped to conclusions, accused me of faking, and started insulting me. I…”

You can't lie

You can't lie

It was hard to get over. I opened my eyes slowly. "Are you okay?" Luke called somewhere around me. Didn't it work? I opened my eyes to the school environment. "It worked!" I threw my arms around Luke. "Oh my God, it worked!" I jogged around him, unable to believe my eyes. "I guess? What worked?" He blinked multiple times. I remembered instantly what I needed. "Yes, I need that bottle of almadate from you. Why did you lie and tell me it was going to last for twelve hours?"

Hunter's Revenge

Hunter's Revenge

Was I nothing but a pawn in her sick and twisted game? Unsure of what to do, I decided to look at her. Her eyes have shifted to the ground as her tears drip onto the cement. Initially, I cursed her for making me fall in love with her. As I watched her eyes throughout her big reveal, I noticed one important detail. Her eyes dart everywhere but me as though she can't even look at me. Or as if she's lying. When someone lies, they look to the right- away from the person they're lying to. It is difficult for someone lying to look the other person in the eye. It's a subconscious reaction, as we don't want to see how the other person reacts to our blatant lie.
