A figure sitting upon it. Waiting. Watching. Then the figure slowly stood. Tall. Powerful. Ancient armor covered his body.

The curtains had been decorated with elegant tassels and golden flowers. On the elevated space in front was a dignified throne made with African blackwood and gold. It was seated in the middle of two gigantic statues that looked like the moon goddess, Selene. A smaller seat, embellished with crystals and gems, was on the right. Elisia knew that it was where the queen should be—a seat beside the king. She didn't know how she was able to walk straight in front. She stood beside Thane like she was his queen, but she knew she was a fake.
