Lorenzo just gazed at him, his expression a mystery, while Kingsley returned the stare with a puzzled tilt of his head.
Lorenzo finally moved, his finger tracing lightly down the side of Kingsley’s face, from temple to jaw, the touch feather-soft and electric. A shiver zipped down Kingsley’s spine; he closed his eyes, surrendering to the caress, his breath steadying. When he reopened them, Lorenzo’s eyes held the same steady watch. Kingsley wasn’t great at reading faces, but the tenderness shining in Lorenzo’s gaze was impossible to miss, like a quiet glow in the dim room.
