The Lunar prophecy
It glowed softly, contradicting the usual behavior of a rejected wolf's mark, which should darken and fade.
Frowning, I rubbed the mark, and an intense pain shot through me. I screamed, collapsing to the floor. My eyes widened, turning white as a vision seized me.
In the vision, Nathaniel lay on a bed, pale and sweating. His eyes seemed lifeless, as if his soul had been extinguished. Emilia rushed to his side, helping him sit up. He coughed up blood into the bucket she held.
"I'm dying," Nathaniel whispered, his voice scratchy and barely audible.
