Uncle Zeb says. Uncle Zeb moves his hand across my neck, and I watch as beautiful colors dance through the air. "NOW!" Uncle Jeb screams. Uncle Zeb grabs the amulet when Uncle Jeb screams at him. The amulet illuminates and begins to float off of my neck. It moves around the room as colors escape the amulet. The amulet seems to turn inside out and then moves quickly back to my neck. Uncle Zeb and Uncle Jeb touch my amulet, and something begins to move into my body. I am not burning or hurting as the magic from the amulet spills into my body.

After a few seconds of nothing happening, Teema, Venya and even Dilo soon gasped as they sensed magic. “That’s…” Teema and Venya started to say, looking at something under Rex’s outstretched hand. “Impossible,” Dilo finished, her dark blue eyes wide in shock. ‘This man can perform a type of magic thought lost to all and speaks of even more absurd ancient magic. I will follow him and get him to trust me, then I will bring him to Lord Sothis. In other words, Olive swore an oath to the Goddess of Magic with the elemental fire, vowed to the Magic Sanctioner, and pledged her loyalty to Baron Christian Stewart and his descendants. Taking an oath with elemental fire means that if you break it, you will no longer be able to advance in rank as a magician. The magical sanctioner referred to in the oath is a golem, a construct of wisdom that serves the goddess of magic. If the person who took the oath breaks it, he will be hunted by it, and the hunt will be endless.

"I have spent fifty years collecting dark artifacts. This cane was carved from the World Tree. It can bind a god." Victor strained against the magic. His muscles bulged. veins popped in his neck. The floor cracked under his boots but he could not move forward. "And you," Silas looked at me. "The spark." The two bandaged figures behind him stepped forward. They moved with jerky unnatural speed. They were golems. Dead flesh animated by magic. "Tear her apart," Silas commanded. "But keep the womb intact. We may still find a use for it." The golems charged me.

And horrifying. “T-That goblin is using magic!? Goblins can’t do that!” She hid behind a boulder with the level-headed boys who contemplated throwing her out. “Not unless they’re taught” calmly replied Hector. “But the textbooks”- “The text books don’t tell everything, especially text that can exploited”. She shut up after that, deciding to think up something before the batch of goblins come along. “I’ll create a hole, Hector can summon fire beneath it” she offered, staring wearily at the approaching goblins, their hands frozen as if they couldn’t control the magic they had.

Looking around at my mages, I tried to determine who I needed to help and who was okay on their own. Liam was taking on a large male mage with a nose ring and the appearance of horns coming out of his bald head. I assumed those were placed there by magic, and he didn’t really have horns growing out of his head, but it was difficult to know for sure. “Give it up, Harlow!” I heard Grimly shout from far behind the line of advance. “I have more reserves. You cannot win.”
