The Golem Mage Novels & Stories

To the west, the Golem Collective – earth mages chanting, streets rippling like disturbed water, stone facades peeling away to form lumbering, faceless sentinels that crush parked cars like tin cans. Screams. Real screams. Not echoes. People trapped. Dying.

Daisy hurriedly explained. "You're wasting my time. I think I have to do this." He said and I turned to face him 'cause I didn't understand what he wanted to do. Turning back to look at him, I inhaled some sort of powder and my thinking changed. "Will you follow me now?" Sage asked with a smile. "Yeah, sure." I answered and gasps filled the air. "Sage" Morgan roared. "You know black magic is forbidden in this kingdom. How dare you use it?"

"The second that you are not needed anymore, he is going to slaughter you all without a second thought." The robed man glared at me. "I don't have time for your lectures," he said angrily. "Last chance, turn the witch over to us, now." The other sorcerers lifted their hands as if ready to cast their magic on us. I didn't even give them the chance and sent out a single word through our link. 'Attack.'

It can make you look like a different race or person, though only the rarest ones can copy a specific person's appearance. She rose from her stump seat and handed it to Seth. It was rather pretty, and it almost looked as if there was a light inside the stone. "I thought you could only enchant things that were once alive?" he queried, looking at the small gemstone. "I keep forgetting you come from a place without magic. Golems, elementals and gargoyles are made from stone and are alive. They eat gemstones like candy and channel mana through them as they digest them, allowing the gemstones to hold an enchantment when they come out the other end.

He stepped between us to pluck the ring from Avery's fingers before she could slide it on. He studied it, turning it every which way, even holding it up to the fluorescent lights in the ceiling. "How did he manage that?" "Manage what?" I asked, a sinking pit growing in my stomach. "I told you my magic is based around Earth, right? Well, metal and gemstones are as much a part of earth as plants are. But what I see here is - I just can't figure out how a Necromancer could possibly produce a Witch's spell as intricate as this."

He compelled. The guards frowned in sync, seized him back the neck, and flung him towards the strong walls of the castle. It looks like compulsion was a wrong move because we are not quite sure what kind of creatures they might be. A huge part of me suspects they could be angels and if that is possible, vampiric ability to compel is quite useless. My fingers suddenly started trembling not as a result of magic because I did nothing to activate my magic. The temperature of my body rose and I felt my neck heat up like a furnace. The ruby pendant suddenly became scalding hot and it made sizzling sounds.

He was getting used to his human form. He flapped his wings. At least they still moved. "Prepare to die, gargoyle," the grotesque figure snarled. Her fetid breath washed over him, making him want to gag, but he wouldn't show weakness. He had a warrior's heart and if it stopped beating today at least it would stop in battle. He swiped at her, but she leaned out of the way. He hadn't ever encountered a goblin that had magical powers like this. Had they developed since he'd been in stone?

Suddenly, it isn’t so bad to go and fulfill this assignment if I can truly help Gideon Swan. And I don’t know it, but by the middle of this ramblings in my thought, I fell asleep, and I am now holding this man who is as old as my Dad by the elbows while we laughed about some mistake in a magick spell that has him make a lump of salt into a dragon, who flew to the mountains of Germany and shapeshifts itself into a sheep.

Nodding in satisfaction he smiled as he prepared to go to sleep. ——————————————— Rolo watched as yet more mages came through the portals they had up. He had not been comforted by the descriptions of the creatures Jeff had detailed to him. They were not a naturally formed creature and as he feared it was a twisted life force mage. They were performing a twisted form of life force magic. Ugh…necromancy.

Only then did he release her. She rounded up on him. "You have got to be kidding me? Are you going to leave them out there to fight whoever those men are?" The golem grunted but said nothing. After a few seconds had passed, he turned to her and in a calm voice, began to speak. "Rage is the lord of the underground Creep, a dark and dangerous world full of blood sucking men exactly like himself. Those men in the sky.. . . " He pointed outside. "Are his men."
