The Maid

The Maid

A complete absurdity! They were two women, and they were five huge men, is that unfair? Yes, I know. Cowardly? Also, I needed to do it, it would be simpler and quicker, cleaner, and leave fewer traces, so that's how it happened, they'd soon get over it, everyone has been mugged once in their life and gotten over it, except the little princess and queen of Ridgewood, but at least now they knew what the experience was like not being able to feel pity, maybe a little at seeing her mother unbalance and fall, but it was part of the process.

His Maid (ENGLISH)

His Maid (ENGLISH)

Her voice is low and quiet. She’s Amanda, 49 years old and our one and only maid, she’s been working with us for 5 years already. “Shhh... just go to Elizabeth’s room. Make sure that she doesn’t come out.” I whisper and waited for her to leave completely. My hands are shaking. I touch the doorknob. I could hear a strange noise as I listen carefully. I swallow nervously. I was surprised when I opened it and saw them both naked. A blonde young woman was on top of him...

The King's faceless wife.

The King's faceless wife.

Flipping the book to the records made since Lord Viper was born, I started there. For about thirty since Viper was born, there hadn't been many leaves or deaths of handmaids. If a handmaid was recruited in to the main castle, then she worked there until she took her last breath, which was at a very old age. From the book of records I was able to assume that back in the days, handmaids were taken care of to the point that they rarely get sick. And even if they did come down with an illness, the main castle provides then a healer, one who will take care of them until they are back to health or dead.

I’ve been hocked on this story. Glad I started reading this book when it was completed though because I also hate with a passion the waiting for updates. At first this Bar, future King needed a royal kick in the behind did he really think she had a choice in any of this.

I LOVE this book! It’s the only book I’ve really kept up with that wasn’t complete yet when I started reading it I waited for the daily updates and I’m not the waiting type. Usually I lose interest after awhile but this book hooked me in and continued to keep me hook. Thank you for this amazing book

Her Story

Her Story

he took my hand which I hadn’t extended and kissed it, licking a bit. Ugh, that was gross. I nodded coming closer to Vadas. I secretly whipped my hand against his pants, and he smiled pressing me closer. They exchanged usual formalities with not so much enthusiasm. His female, I instantly forgot her name, was almost naked in her blood-red, tight dress. It hardly covered her butt. And she desperately tried to gain Vadas's attention to her breasts. She was beautiful, however, he doesn’t seem even slightly interested. That made me smirk for some reason.

Mated to Alpha Russell The Rogue Revenge

Mated to Alpha Russell The Rogue Revenge

All the maids are wearing uniformed material. Immediately the car stops at the car pack. A guard opens the door for me to step aside. A young girl around Merlins’ age rushed to me with a bowed head. “My name is Annabel, and I will be your new handmaid,” she introduced herself. My eyes scanned her from the hallow of her shoes to her ponytail-packed hair. Then it found Diana. She had followed me because she wanted to be with me. She is the only loyal servant who was by my side.

The Maid's Deception

The Maid's Deception

Aria. Sarah. Whatever her name was. The woman he loved. The woman he'd claimed completely just an hour ago. The woman whose virginity he'd taken, whose body bore his marks, whose womb held his seed. She was bent over a cultivation bed, her hands moving quickly as she carefully extracted leaves and roots from the Vitalis Radix plants. Her bag sat open beside her, already partially filled. Even from this distance, he could see her hands shaking. Could see the tears on her face catching the light. Could see the way her entire body trembled.....from exhaustion, from pain, from the emotional devastation of what she was doing.

Tales of the Throne

Tales of the Throne

After closing the book in her hands, Katherine walked to the ledge that surrounded the lower balcony and stared into the sky. The most appropriate thing that could describe what she felt was the saying, 'a pawn in the hands of destiny'. Ainsley's works always seemed to grant Katherine insight into her own life. Katherine closed her eyes and embraced the calm but cool wind of the countryside. She felt like destiny was playing with her; like it was waving the comforts of life in front of her but for some reason, she couldn't seem to grasp the reality of the life she lived. "It's very troubling weather, you should get in soon darling," The head housemaid, Eleanor suggested, persuading Katherine

Her Man

Her Man

Then, after breakfast, I was taken to Alexander's mansion. Alexander's mansion was breathtaking, opulent, exactly as expected. The mansion's imposing grandeur was awe-inspiring, its towering stone walls, soaring ceilings, and lavish decor converging to create an overwhelming sense of majesty and power, as if the very walls whispered: "This is the domain of a man who commands respect, and demands control. A man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants” The mere thought of him wanting me made shivers run through my spine. But the thought was short-lived because I knew he did not want me.

A Tale of Two Sisters

A Tale of Two Sisters

Seeing me, she grabbed my hand and screamed, "Sion is a monster… You have to save me!" I frowned, noticing that even makeup couldn't hide the bruise on her neck. "Tell me, what happened?" Joey was still panicking and gulped before she finally spoke. She had gotten bored and was exploring Sion's castle when she found his secret room. She shuddered, her previous dignity gone. "It's filled torture tools, and there's a deep pool of blood on the floor. And…" She paused, her nails digging into my harm. "There's this tome that says Sion stays alive by eating the hearts of young girls! That the more infatuated his victim is with him, the better!"

THE LUNA OF MY DESTRUCTION.

THE LUNA OF MY DESTRUCTION.

the lead maid said, her tone respectful but unyielding. And just like that, I realized they weren’t here as servants. They were soldiers disguised as handmaids. Tears burned behind my eyes as they stripped away the remnants of the night before piece by piece, until I stood there, trembling, surrounded by strangers. They bathed me like I was porcelain, careful but firm and I bit the inside of my cheek to keep me from crying out. Every touch, every movement, reminded me of where I was and who had sent them. When they were done, they dried me in silence.

Frequently Asked Questions

The world of 'The Handmaid's Tale' is one that haunts me long after I put the book down. It's set in a dystopian future where the U.S. has fallen, replaced by the oppressive Republic of Gilead. Fertility rates have plummeted, and women who can bear children are forced into servitude as 'Handmaids,' assigned to powerful men to produce offspring. The story follows Offred, one such Handmaid, as she navigates this brutal regime while clinging to memories of her past life—her husband, her daughter, her freedom. What chills me isn't just the systemic violence but the quiet moments: the way language is policed, how women turn against each other, the suffocating rituals like the 'Ceremony.' Atwood’s genius lies in how familiar it feels; every horror is rooted in real history.

I’ve seen the Hulu adaptation, and while it expands beyond the book, that core tension remains—the desperation in Offred’s voice, the way Gilead weaponizes religion and nostalgia. It’s not just a warning about extremism; it’s a mirror held up to our own complacency. The scene where Handmaids stone a 'criminal' to death still guts me. There’s no easy hope here, just survival, and maybe, if you’re lucky, rebellion.
