Shaking her head, she said, "But aren't you only like that because you idiotically accepted an accursed book from a nobody? You said, you don't even believe in ghosts before you got that." He sighed and took out the book which always appeared inside his pocket for several months now. The book was giving off a mysterious vibe due to its black worn-out cover featuring a faceless monster. He got it from a fake friend who had styled himself as a book collector. Nathan was a horror writer so he accepted the creepy book. His initial objective was only to look for more ideas and inspiration. Who would have thought the horror writer who never believed in ghost would suddenly start seeing creepy ghos

Quite the unique story in this website. I have read until chapter 50, it's a nice fantasy that is also like just a slice of life, at times heavy, at times just like a breath of fresh air. Only problem is the expensive chapters. Good work though.

"It's beautiful, Sombra. Look at the detail on these hinges." It is a pile of paper and skin. "Thank you for that lovely imagery. I’m glad you’re here to keep me grounded." She let out a huff of air that ruffled my hair. You are stalling. Maybe I was. The book felt heavy in a way that had nothing to do with its physical weight. It felt like a threshold. Once I opened it, I was stepping out of the dark and into something I might not be ready for. But that was just my nerves talking. It was an object. A very old, very expensive object, but just a book.

she said, her tone still cold. I nodded, but a small sigh slipped out as I followed her downstairs. The house was quiet, almost too quiet. It felt like I was just going through the motions, each step mechanical. When we reached the living room, Hailey handed me a book from the pocket of her apron. It was Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. She placed it in my hands without a word, but I couldn’t help the bitter laugh that bubbled up inside me.

Helena quickly ran out of the room after she came in and called them and said I found this book on the bed and it's not mine This is the first time I've seen it Is it for any of you? sera said, "This is the first time I've seen him. He's never mine." Mart also said it was not his. Helena looked at them and said suspiciously: I don't know how he came to my room and to my bed, it's really suspicious. Could the house be haunted or what? What the fuck is going on here. That book wasn't there when I came out of the room and we sat down together, I'm sure of that. Mart thought: I don't know what's going on here but let's see what's in this book first and then see what we're going to do.

Sharing A Roof With Trouble

Danielle Leafather i won't do anything chapter 1waiting for my husband to return from warher rejection, his regreti will not return to my family
She read aloud, voice trembling: “He… he left to protect us. Not because he didn’t care… because he knew this place…” Jace leaned close, shoulder brushing hers. “It’s what I’ve been trying to tell you. This house doesn’t just haunt rooms. It haunts people. And it feeds on what we hide… what we fear.” Ava’s chest ached. And in the same moment, she realized something terrifying—and exhilarating. The house wasn’t just dangerous. It was intimate. Personal. A predator that knew her as well as she knew herself. And she didn’t care. Because Jace was here.

But the book is filled with shadowy creatures and monsters that feed on humans and animals alike. Letting out another loud sigh, I reached for the book and pulled it out. Even though I had wanted to drop this book and find another one that would be more accurate, I wasn't able to find another book back at home. Maybe there might be some in this castle? With the book in my hands, I walked over to the bed and sat at the edge. Placing my hand flat against the hard cover of the book, I traced it from top to bottom, wondering if I should continue reading or just stop filling my head with scary stories.

I’ve been hocked on this story. Glad I started reading this book when it was completed though because I also hate with a passion the waiting for updates. At first this Bar, future King needed a royal kick in the behind did he really think she had a choice in any of this.

I LOVE this book! It’s the only book I’ve really kept up with that wasn’t complete yet when I started reading it I waited for the daily updates and I’m not the waiting type. Usually I lose interest after awhile but this book hooked me in and continued to keep me hook. Thank you for this amazing book

She welcomed it. Daniel guided her down the steps without touching until the final one. Then he offered his hand. She took it. This time, she did not hesitate. The car waited with its headlights low. Marcus stood near the rear door, expression unreadable but alert. Daniel helped Leah inside, then followed. Only when the door closed did the sound of the Grant house vanish. For several seconds, neither of them spoke. Leah stared through the window as the house receded behind them. The east wing windows reflected the garden lights, blank and pale. From outside, nothing looked wrong. That was the true horror of houses like that. They could hold rooms inside them and still glow beautifully at dus

But Rafe had previously stated that this book was related to the secret of his changing attitude, so I decided to keep looking. From noon to sunset, the sun rises. This book has never been found; it appears to have vanished from this world. "What's happening? How can a book just disappear from the world?" I felt as if I'd explored every nook and cranny of the forest's edge and come up empty-handed. It was as if the book had vanished entirely. My heart then skipped a beat. I've never been so terrified. My hair stood on end, as if I were surrounded by something supernatural.

The rest of the busy room always seemed to blur into static whenever he looked at me that way. Dangerous. Very dangerous. Harmony suddenly gasped, her fingers tightening violently around her books. "Oh my God." I shifted my stance away from her. "What now?" She pointed a rigid finger toward the heavy book still sitting on the shelf between us. "The creepy history book." I followed her gesture, my pulse quickening slightly as I read the faded gold lettering on the spine: The Founding Families of Black Hollow. Right. The entire reason I had wandered over to this dusty section in the first place.

I chipped in with details to make the story as airtight as possible, hoping to make it seem as real as we could. But despite all our efforts, Helena and Howard's expressions showed growing doubt, as if they were trying to understand what we were saying without thinking we were crazy. That is, until I pulled out my phone, turned on the flashlight, and waved my finger in the air. They both froze, horrified, when they saw there was no shadow cast by my hand. "I actually asked you to come here because I wanted to ask Howard something. The version of me that you interact with—has anything seemed off about her?"

Shirley Jackson's 'The Haunting of Hill House' is this eerie masterpiece that crawls under your skin and stays there. It follows Eleanor Vance, a lonely woman who joins a group investigating paranormal activity in the notoriously haunted Hill House. The real horror isn’t just the creepy occurrences—doors shutting by themselves, cold spots, haunting laughter—but how the house preys on Eleanor’s fragile psyche. The way Jackson writes, it’s like the house itself is a character, breathing and twisting reality around the guests.

What gets me every time is the ambiguity. Is Eleanor losing her mind, or is Hill House truly sentient? The book doesn’t spoon-feed answers, leaving you with this lingering unease. It’s less about jump scares and more about the slow unraveling of sanity. The prose is almost poetic in its dread, especially that iconic opening line: 'No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality.' Chills, every time.
