It was Caio. He closed the door behind him and sat in the armchair across from Adam, no beating around the bush.
“Everything’s ready for the trip. Besides me, I’m taking two trusted men. I don’t think we’ll need more than that. We’ve never had problems with Morales, and I don’t think it’ll start now,” Caio explained, straight to the point.
Adam nodded slowly, still pulling himself together.
“You’re right. But don’t forget the suspicions we have. We’ll see if this trip finally lets us figure out who’s really betraying us: Morales or Hugo Beltran. I need to sort out the port situation as fast as possible. My reputation’s on the line.”
