Silence followed—thick, deliberate, terrifying. I scrambled backward, breath coming in sharp gasps as shadows emerged between the trees. Yellow eyes. Gray fur streaked with blood. Since the wolves have better night vision it’s not a problem for them, but when we turn the bright spot lights on it sure makes it a lot worse for them too. When her shaking hand uncovered her face, that wolf struggled to stand against another wolf standing on his feet. The sight seemed so horrible she went numb. That gigantic wolf slit his throat with a single punch, and the other one left Nathan and leaped at him. Not a moment passed, and dozens of wolves surrounded that abandoned house. The building was unusually quiet, most of the wolves having already left to attend to their night duties. The pack house itself looked very modern, unlike the Alpha's mansion that was old and very traditional.
