Mind on autopilot, I rushed to the closet, quickly got dressed, and headed out of the room. I descended the staircase, reaching out to Dexter via mindlink and searching for Lucius, only to come face to face with a portal, which appeared in the middle of the living room, growing larger by the second. "What the..." My eyes bugged from their sockets as I watched a man step out of the portal, dressed in black with a claw mark across his eyes. A dark and dreadful aura emanated from him, and rogues without number poured out of the portal, filling up the living room.

He stared at the vortex, his heart pounding in his chest, his mind filled with a sense of dread. “Come, Mason,” Ste-phen said, his voice urging him forward. “The future awaits.” Mason hesitated, his feet rooted to the ground, his fear holding him back. He wanted to run, to escape this strange, terrifying world that had suddenly opened up before him. But he knew he couldn’t. He knew he was trapped, a prisoner in a game he didn’t understand. Taking a deep breath, Mason stepped forward, his heart pounding in his chest, his every sense on high alert. The vortex seemed to pull him in, its dark tendrils reaching out to him, beckoning him to step into the unknown.

It called it the Labyrinth.” He crossed the room and sat beside Alex, taking his hand. “It’s not a physical place. It’s inside us. A mental construct built from every memory, every doubt, every version of ourselves we rejected. The entity wanted one last chance to force the balance. To make one of us fully dominant and the other fully submissive. Permanently.”

Voss’s words returned, unbidden, whispering in Ellie’s memory: “The Labyrinth isn’t just stone. It’s sentient. It watches. It judges.” And she felt it now. The walls pulsed faintly, veins of golden light running beneath marble like the glow of buried embers. Sigils shifted when she wasn’t looking, lines rearranging themselves into new patterns that bled away when she blinked. The air itself bent strangely — one moment thick as honey, the next light as mist. She stumbled, realizing the straight corridor she’d been walking now curled into an impossible spiral. Gravity lurched. Her stomach flipped.
