Chapter 1:(Ethan’s POV) The bookshop appeared on my street seemingly overnight, sandwiched between a dry cleaner and a closed Thai restaurant. "Sanctuary Books & Coffee" in simple gold lettering on the window, the kind of place that looked like it had always been there and you’d just never noticed. I wandered in on a Tuesday, drawn by the smell of old paper and espresso. The owner was shelving philosophy texts. He was tall, dark hair touched with silver at the temples, maybe early forties. He looked up when the bell chimed, and his smile was warm but careful, like someone who’d learned to measure his expressions.

Chapter 1 - Firecracker I looked at my shop one last time. The sold sign was sitting in the big window bidding me one last goodbye. The bank was more than happy to buy this piece of land from me once I told them I was leaving the province. The final part of my past, a darker time, was finally gone as I closed this chapter of my life.

You guys have been the absolute best audience a writer could ask for. If you've been around since the beginning, you know this "short story" had a little identity crisis. And now, here we are, at the final page. This book is done! And I’m going to be honest with you about the ending, particularly that final chapter. I know some of you might be thinking, "Curvy, what gives? Where was the last-minute spice? The grand finale hookup?"

He was almost done with this book, when his death made him almost cry. He was at the bookstore, reading this book comfortably, sitting on an armchair, enjoying the breeze in the bookstore in his neighborhood. It was an old shop with tons of books packed on the old wooden shelves, releasing a fragrance of old book, a mesmerizing aura of heaven for book lovers. One can see the upper floor stuffed with some large boxes, most probably stored with some more books. The shop had fewer customers than it had a few years ago. Most people are busy climbing up the social ladder to reach a peak, or some are too busy managing their social media, but book lovers crawl their way to their favorite shop to lo

He hangs up, and I look at the dead man on the floor. I turn my back and get into the car. - To the headquarters. The car stops on a busy street full of Macdonals and Starbucks stores, but I enter the old bookstore that no one gives a fuck about. The last book that the bookstore sold must have been in 1990, but all the shelves were full of old books without a speck of dust. I look at the man behind the counter, who greets me with a nod. Moving between the shelves, I reach the end of the hall. A bookshelf slides out of its place as if by magic, and I open the steel door that becomes visible using a retina reader and a code.
