Leo's POV Wendy had passed out, so I told Charlie to take her to the hospital. Clutching the few belongings the police had returned to me—Viola’s phone and a handful of signed transfer agreements—I rushed after them. At the hospital, Charlie stared at the documents. "Viola... is this all she left behind?" Charlie was crying, tears streaming down his face as he looked at the documents—company shares transfer agreements and the bank trust fund transfer. "Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, look at this!"

People walked slowly, stopping to chat with neighbors they recognized. Several people stared as I parked and stepped onto the sidewalk. I felt their eyes tracking my movements and heard whispers following me. They recognized me somehow, knew I was the rejected mate hiding in their territory. I walked faster, keeping my head down and my hands shoved deep in my jacket pockets. L A small storefront caught my attention halfway down the block. The sign above the door read "Chapter & Brew" in elegant script letters, through the glass I could see shelves of books lining the walls and small tables scattered throughout.

A table near the window held neatly wrapped gifts. Elegant paper. Expensive ribbons. Beautiful packaging. Her gaze drifted toward the small package she had placed there. Simple brown paper. Dark blue ribbon. Unremarkable. Much like its giver. Her fingers tightened unconsciously. She had visited three bookstores to find that book. Three. And one dusty second-hand shop hidden between two narrow streets. All because of a conversation she and Charlie had in the library room of the school. The thought still embarrassed her. Because normal people forgot such things.

The last chapter 'London not L.A' is the last official chapter of this book, however, I will be posting a few chapters of different events that happened after the end of the book.
