Lusie fall in thinking of fear. In a summer camp just outside that town, people were having fun. Some were playing volleyball, some were swimming, some were gossiping with friends or family members standing or sitting on benches. Children were moving here and there. All were in fancy dresses. Deisy with her friends Zen and others were having some food sitting surrounding a table. They were talking loudly and laughing and poking each other.

The snap sounded like my body's last protest before my hand finally loosened. I had been clutching a transparent ziplock bag, the kind my grandmother used to store her blood pressure medicine. The scientist opened it carefully and removed a folded piece of paper. The bag had protected it from the water. Only the edges were slightly damp. Crayon marks covered the page, words mixed with simple musical notation. The title read, "A Song for Mom." [One little duck went out one day. A home from my dad not far away. **Elizabeth's POV** * I was planning to run back to the pack house to treat the wound when I had a nosebleed. However, my nosebleed stopped halfway through the run. Also, I found a large group of mushrooms that were growing very well. They could feed me and Carolina for at least two days. I decided to pick the mushrooms first before going back. I returned to the pack house with a basket full of mushrooms, and as I got closer, I thought I saw a strange man communicating with Carolina.

What book is that? Jai leaned over to the front and took the book from the cushion to examine it. It was light and a bit thin. There was a picture in the cover that looked like a forest, and a small boy was in the picture, picking some mushrooms. The title was written in artistic way, like a children book would.

I, Lidya, and Devanna spent our time in the mushroom house and made all kinds of cakes and pieces of bread. Devanna is very good at making cakes and bread. Have we forgotten our problem? Not. Absolutely not, but at least we can spend our time doing something, as a distraction. Perhaps the only thing that distracted us from the tragedy that occurred in the pack was the various kinds of strange and funny creatures that appeared in the kitchen. “Delicious fried chicken!” The fried chicken was served ten minutes later, and Nellie hopped around in glee. Neil was just as elated, but he still snuck an apprehensive glance at Luna. “Mommy…” “You can eat,” said Luna with a small smile. She was already seated at the dining table. “Here you go, Sirs. Have a taste of this mushroom soup,” said Lily enthusiastically as she set down bowls of soup in front of everyone at the table. “Ms. Luna was afraid that fried chicken alone would be too heavy, so she made this mushroom soup herself!”
