They were different from the goblins that helped us in the wasteland; these ones looked smaller. Once they were all below us, one of them began to laugh. I knew right away that he was the leader. “This loot is very powerful,” the goblin said. “I wonder what we can do with them.” The goblins started laughing, and suddenly I saw my mother in the background.

Lucky for him he had jumped back just in time or else he would have been cleaved nearly in half. He was losing blood though, and Chelsea could smell it. Bjorn watched in horror as his girlfriend went into a wild frenzy, a lycanthropic spasm of blood lust. She threw her head back and yowled, a haunting peel of wolfish scream that shook the walls. I tensed, hand on the hilt of my sword.

A petite woman was pleading with the muscular man, her voice trembling as she lay sprawled on the floor, her eyes fluttering shut. "No way. I'm not done yet." "Ahh… No, please..." In the bedroom next door, the shadows of two figures moved together in a rhythm that hinted at their intensity.

“Greeting to our benevolent Lord Shadow. This humble goblin is answering your call.” David stumbled in the air and nearly fell down. Luckily, the goblin was fast enough to catch him with one hand. James hung his mouth wide open. A goblin? A goblin he said? The powerful entity graced himself in front of humans? Really? Goblins lived in solitary. A few disguised as humans and lived amongst humans, many of them cut off contact with other beings and lived among themselves. That’s because they lived in a crony. However, a few oddballs lived alone among humans and were arrogant to boot.

The walls and the ground reverberated with the sound such that it seemed the tunnels had a heartbeat of their own. The goblin world was not dark as Germaine had expected. On the contrary, the tunnels glowed with life. The walls were lined with loosely woven baskets emitting golden light.
