Right after Mr. Han got out of his office, a succession of knocks came on. “Must be my girl,” he mumbled excitedly as he walked to the door to personally open it. Normally, he would just ask him or her to come in but with Janine’s case, he wants to personally open it, so he could hug her as soon as he closed his door.

“Jennie? Mr. Harlan wants to see you in his office when you’re done.” My stomach dropped. Mr. Harlan was the gym manager mid-fifties, still built like a former athlete, with salt-and-pepper hair and a no-nonsense attitude that made everyone straighten up when he walked by.
