But no one really knew what happened. Even when he gets asked by people about the reason for the mask he still refuses to disclose anything about it and instead choose to live like that. But there's was a particular someone though who always puts a smile on Damien's face and gives him joy each time he thinks of her.

When Ethan removed the sock, the man hastily begged, "Sir, I was just kidding. Look how worked up you are! You don't have to play with us, alright?" "Hah." Sneering, Ethan took off the man's mask. "I'll play with you then." The masks hid their shame. If someone removed the masks, it would be the same as stripping them naked and throwing them out into the streets. Ethan knew that face. The man was a renowned entrepreneur in Aldenvine. The media claimed that he was a man who loved his wife and children. His children were quite distinguished as well. But this successful man was doing such horrible things in the shadows.

But then again, I kept wondering while deleting my first impression of her. Her one-of-a-kind beauty even outshined when her face flushed red. I thought she would be using a mask as well. In that way, we could not see each other's faces. I see her now. And she wasn't ugly to my eyes. "Just keep your mask on, please." She requested, lifting the white blanket to her not-so-gifted breast. Well. I would not give a damn about whether her breasts were bulging or not. Several celebrities and models were not that gifted. What mattered to me was the ten thousand dollar payment.

“Let me review the deal. I’ll spare your life but you don’t get to see my face. Give me Cassandra Blade and I’ll walk away. Or, you see my face and I kill you and take your genius nephew and Cassandra with me. No matter which option you choose, I will always win.” Allan sighed. He wasn’t stupid. The only reason why the masked man would want to back out of a deal was that he was someone familiar and Allan wanted to know the person terrorizing the world behind the mask. “King Mask, I stand by your second choice and I will give you a reason after I see your face.”

Dim lights cast pale reflections on the concrete floor, creating long shadows that shifted as cars passed by. As I walked toward the main entrance, something caught my attention. In the corner of the basement, someone stood behind a black car. The figure almost blended into the darkness, dressed entirely in black jacket, pants, even gloves. A black cap covered most of his face, while a dark mask hid his expression. But his eyes, they were locked onto me. I stopped. Slowly, his hand reached into his pocket. His movement was calm, but that was precisely what made my chest tighten even more.

The man in the mask. Because something was waiting for me there— And this time, I wasn’t running. This time, I needed answers.

But one caught her attention, a man wearing a white mask and white clothing while the rest wore black. "Hmm, he didn't tell me you were athletic," the man wearing white commented before bending down to meet her level. "Who are you?" she asked the man and he looked around. "Isn't it obvious? We're assassins," he said as the smile on his face can be heard through his voice. Her brows furrowed in confusion as she examined each one of them. "We've been trying to get the mafia boss for a while now. I didn't know getting married would be his demise," he explained with a scoff.

Cold and harmful. But why him? I don’t want to agree with the little voice in my head whispering thoughts. Phrases I forbid. Remarks explaining the reason I'm standing before this man. What arrangement did my so-called mate make with his evil brother? I’ve never offended Alpha Vladimir. Why is he punishing me so hard? “He is your buyer. Your new Master,” the masked man responds tenderly as if listening to my thoughts, confirming the whispers of the tiny voice. He undoes his mask, revealing his short, stylish brown hair and fitted, pointed nose with perfect lips.

Valeria was a little scared and muttered, "What kind of scam is this? How lame!" There was no sign of anyone. She coughed and asked, "Anybody... here?" A noise came from behind. Valeria turned around and saw that a man was standing behind her and he was wearing a mask. Valeria was shocked that a man in a mask appeared out of nowhere and she asked, "You... Why are you wearing a mask?" The man did not speak. He reached out and took Valeria's hand. However, Valeria slapped his hand away, "What are you doing?"

"But even the strongest fortress has its vulnerabilities." Then, he did the unthinkable. He reached out. I felt his calloused fingers trace the delicate carvings of my mask—the bridge of the wolf’s nose, the curve of the jaw. My breath hitched, a tiny, traitorous sound escaping my lips. I should have struck him down. I should have used my father’s deadly gaze to end his heartbeat right there. But I stayed still. I let him touch the ivory that separated us. "You hide behind this mask," he said, his voice dropping to a seductive register, "but I believe there is a woman of immense beauty and passion beneath it. A woman who is worthy of being loved... worthy of being known."
