Memories, like elusive phantoms, danced at the edges of my consciousness, teasing me with glimpses of a childhood long gone. I closed my eyes, trying to summon those fleeting moments of innocence, of laughter and warmth. I could vaguely recall the joyous days of my youth, playing in the park, family dinners filled with love and laughter. But as I ventured into the years after college, the memories grew increasingly distant, slipping through my fingers like sand.

"Yes, it's true. Memoria specializes in memory alteration. We help individuals who seek to escape the pain of their past, to start anew." The gravity of her words sank in, and a whirlwind of emotions churned within me. The memories I had with Adrian, both the blissful and the tumultuous, flooded my mind. The love we shared, the moments of joy and passion, but also the heartache and pain that had scarred us. Could I simply erase it all? "But what about the consequences?" I asked, my voice trembling. "What happens after the memories are gone? Will I be the same person? Will I lose a part of myself?"

Between the icy wind and the relentless downpour, I soon lost all feeling in my limbs. Even so, I couldn't stop walking. If I stopped, I would become nothing more than a spectacle for the onlookers—a joke for them to laugh at. Not long after, my vision blurred. Zeke had stayed by my side for an entire day and night. His face was swollen when I woke up. I later learned it was because he had punched himself out of guilt.

ROMAN I come back to the present,my mind is constantly jumping between memories of Ana and stupid conversations and little arguments that we've had. They’re pieces of the life you lost and they are slipping back in, whether you want them or not.” I clenched my fists in my lap, “So you’re telling me my memories aren’t just a figment of my imagination or some experiment gone haywire. They’re reruns of what I had faced before? Then why are they so different with the happenings of this life?"

What on earth! My heart raced as I tried to make sense of the sudden rush of memories. The images played in my mind like a movie, the intensity of that passionate night flooding back to me. I couldn't believe how vivid and captivating those moments were. Confused and intrigued, I couldn't help but wonder why that memory had resurfaced so abruptly. Was it a sign? Or just a random occurrence? I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something significant about it. Taking a deep breath, I decided to embrace the unexpected surge of emotions and memories. Perhaps there was a reason behind it, a lesson to be learned or a new chapter waiting to unfold. I was determined to explore the depths

Breathing became harder as old memories clawed their way back, dragging me into the past. Back to that night.

I focused on him, still glaring. “Roman explained that you have a lot of blocked memories. When they push forward, you get these episodes. Is this one of them?” he asked. I was about to tell him to go to hell when the pressure in my head built up again, causing me to groan and bend forward. “Yeah, seems that way,” he said. “Oh, I can’t wait for us to go down memory lane together. Maybe coming back here will unlock it all. Or will it just drive you crazy?”

I halted upon hearing him. "You're not recovering but running away from your past like a coward, Aana. You came to know that your past is like a trigger to your panic attacks. That's why you stopped thinking about it but it's not a solution Aana. You hadn't lost your memory. If you think that you can control your mind and will never remember your past again then you're wrong. Leave everything, a simple darkness reminds you of your past." a lone tear escaped from my eyes upon hearing him.

He took out a cheque and signed it. ** Kai kept his eyes staring at the boring ceiling of his room. It has been hours since he laid on the mattress yet he still couldn't fall into a slumber that he's been desiring. "Fuck," He muttered. "Let me fucking sleep," His bruise is hurting. He couldn't stop thinking. Everything that happened that day played his brain like a broken disc. The way his father insulted and hurt him felt like deja vu, for a million times now. "You're hurt? By him again? You're a man and you're being fragile? Humiliating," Kai talks to himself.
