We’re close. “Get your spell ready,” Mist says. I nod, prepping the incantation. It’s simple—a few words, a gesture. But devastating if done right. At the tree line, I can see our people fighting like hell—but they’re vastly outnumbered. Mist splits us down the middle with a sweep of her arms, sending half left, half right. Once everyone’s in position, she gives me a nod. I push my hands out and whisper the final word. The ripple of the spell is visible—like a wave of shadowed energy sweeping across the battlefield. One by one, the demons and enemy gods flinch, their confidence crumbling. They go on the defensive. Some even turn to flee.

Heat rises up my neck, bile stings my tongue as I hold back my curse. I go to look away, but Dragomir roars, "Watch!…Watch every damn thing.” The force of his voice freezes my blood. I stand rooted in my spot. “Good.” A scornful look contours his face as he whispers something to the lady. She nods. Her throat drags; long lashes blink as she rises. Slipping off her uniform, she walks towards the bed, her gait stiff and hesitant. The fear in her eyes deepens as she stops at the edge.

~ DANIELLE ~ Darkness. Silence. There was a distant, rhythmic heart monitor in the background. Beep-beep-beep. Muffled voices, unclear words, like people were speaking underwater. Fluorescent lights threatened to blind my eyes as I forced them open. The acrid scent of medicine whipped through my nostrils as I caught a glimpse of the soft, muted blue of a nurse’s uniform. “Doctor, I think she’s awake.” The voice sounded faint but near at the same time. I swallowed forcefully, feeling an aching pain at the back of my throat.

“Meaning?” Mayra looked around, then leaned closer. “The mist is not just for show. It listens and remembers faces. One wrong word, one stray thought and it tells the Queen.” She straightened again. “I’ve seen the clouds drag a thief off the street without a single guard touching him, you can hardly do what you want without scrutiny. This is no place for the young.” Valia’s stomach sank. “Good to know,” she said, keeping her voice steady.

He rubbed her back until her breathing steadied. “What… what happened?” she asked quietly. He sat down beside her, still holding onto her hand like he was afraid she’d vanish again. “You stepped back from Tina,” he said. “And then you screamed. After that, you fainted.” Eve stared at her lap. “I felt weak. My vision went blurry. And then…” She swallowed. “I saw something coming towards me. A monster or… something that wasn’t Tina. I couldn’t breathe. Everything just… collapsed.”

Would it taste better? It was as if cold water had been poured on me, and I immediately woke up. My eyes widened when I saw my very own eyes, which I almost didn't recognize. They were blazing bloody crimson, like the eyes of a predator ready to attack her prey. Who the hell are you?

Blake Perspective As I slowly open my eyes, the tantalizing aroma of sizzling bacon and brewing coffee wafts into my nostrils. My blurred vision reveals a bustling kitchen where pots and pans clatter and clink in a harmonious symphony. I feel a warm hand on my shoulder, and a soothing voice assures me I’ll be alright. The gentle touch and comforting words instantly eased the pounding headache and queasy stomach that plagued me after a wild night of drinking. As I scan my surroundings, my eyes lock on Hermione, who appears to be on the brink of collapsing.

Maeve sigh and place her hands in hers. Anika smiled a mocking one, hideous and with a wryly look. “You’re dead.” She whispered.

But all his confusion mysteriously disappeared when he noticed how she had cancelled out the term mistress and replaced it with another phrase. “...I will be your mute mistress” The way she dubbed herself his mute mistress, Ethan should not have felt this strange fall inside his chest. But he did.

But Mists of Time has now offically come to a close, and will hopefully be marked as complete during the course of the next week of so.
