The Neu House Novels & Stories

Maxime Pov The Northpoint house party is a beast all its own—a living, sweating, pulsing animal with bad intentions and zero chill. Every breath I take is thick with cheap beer, tequila fumes, and too many different brands of overpriced cologne. It’s sensory overload—the walls vibrate with bass so heavy it shakes my insides, lights flicker strobe patterns over faces I mostly recognize and wish I didn’t. Navigating this place is war; shoulders bump mine, someone spills a drink down my arm, and my boots stick to floors that haven’t seen a mop since move-in day.

I still didn't understand what she was trying to say. Three months ago, i–or we in particular, got a video from an anonymous sender. It was a partially blurred video of a place in Golden City, called Mount Olympia. It had a slight description written : 'Mount Olympia, Home of gods on Earth, House of Zeus. I definitely wanted to ignore the video, since I couldn't believe a mansion on a mountain was home to gods, most especially, Zeus. But, Zara insisted we upload it, to be sure of it's source, and how legit it was.

He checked his wall clock and saw it was almost 7 am. "Woah. I woke up quite late." He thought walking to his table and sitting. He reached for his PC and switched it on. While he was still yawning and rubbing his eyes, the PC came on. After booting, the first thing he did was check out the site where the aspiring maids were to fill their forms. He clicked on the number of participants and he saw more than two thousand participants. "Wow." He exclaimed. As of yesterday evening, he saw One thousand Five hundred participants, which means more than five hundred joined overnight.

Imagine little baby feet running all over the new house breaking every thing that their chubby hands can get into. Our farm house had been rebuilt to its former glory . If not, I say that the new house is bigger and modern looking although, I must admit that I miss the old house, but we need a bigger room for my parents so they can have more space in order to reproduce and for me and for my grandmother and also, guests rooms. I am becoming friendly, I try to make new friends now.

The click of heels against the checkered floors are especially violent and the clouds outside are stormy, much like Nonna’s mood. “Do you have any idea how much I paid to get these off the media?!” She yells, her voice cracking as she sets her tablet down on the table beside me.

I laugh and say, "Ha-ha Let's go. We have the get-together at Ava's and we have a party to attend tomorrow and we need our beauty sleep before the Dinner and Gala." We open the door and sit inside. While she is busy starting the car engine, I switch on my bluetooth and connect it to the speaker and start playing Taylor Swift's latest album. We drive away, singing loudly and jamming to the song. I roll down the window, allowing the cold wind to enter. I look outside, admiring the beauty of my neighbourhood and I repeat to myself that everything I achieved is definitely due to the hard work I put in. I couldn't help but think to myself,

This is Kinsella’s cousin, the one annoying her to death. “This is Nero Nicholas Bennett of Beach House Chain.” I said in a calm voice. “I happen to have seen your designs and I was wondering if you could do me a favor.” There was silence in between us for seconds. “Beach House? As in the one in Hermosa?” He asked. I inhaled. “Yes.” I breathed. “Oh! What can I do for you, Mr. Bennett?” He was more enthusiastic now. But that made me tremble in fear. What if he knew about me? What if he knew about me and Kinsella? What if—

Some people are moving boxes inside the apartment, but quite a few boxes are still littered in the hallway. Someone has moved into this apartment. I walk towards my apartment, carefully avoiding the stuff in the hallway. I hope my new neighbors are not like the previous ones. Loud and problematic. Because God knows how much peace I need after my shifts at the hospital. "Oh, for fudge sake, why are these boxes in the middle of the apartment?!" An angry feminine voice comes from the apartment. Amused smile forms on my lips hearing the censored cursing. Shaking my head, still smiling, I take out my keys and unlock the door. Even before I can step inside, a loud crash halts my steps, followed by

This is my dad's parents house ,when they died and Aunt Laura wasn't married she stayed here alone. Aunt Laura was already at the door waiting for us as we got out of the car. The first smell that hit my nose was a cow dump,it was so strong that my face turned into a scowl, I looked around in search of where that offense smell was coming from but I saw nothing, what was I expecting when we came to a house near a farm. No one was offended by it because they were smiling and Rebecca pressing her phone. "Oh John well back home". Aunt Laura said.

She couldn’t even remember the last time they’d been to The House. The House was a place where people could indulge in any hedonistic fantasy. No judgment. No condemnation. Damon Roche, a very wealthy businessman, owned The House and he was very discerning when it came to membership. Hell, for all Karla knew their membership had expired or they’d been taken off the guest list since they hadn’t been in two years.
