Rico asked swallowing his lump in his throat. The Boss leaned back, tapping his ash into his glass tray. “We rotate shifts. A Day work, a Car wash, a Food prep and a Stock room. Night shift’s different.” He concluded. “How?” Rico asked. “You get called, you show up. Simple.” Rico felt the weight of those words heavy with implications. “And if I don’t?” He asked. The Boss's eyes hardened. “Then you leave. One way or another.” “I need the work,” Rico said.

But she quickly hurried to meet her. "Starting tonight, you'll be on night shift. Midnight to eight AM. Cleaning, laundry, kitchen prep for the next day." "But Ma'am, I've always worked days. My knees—" "Your knees will manage." Margaret's voice allowed no argument. "This is a staffing decision. Not a negotiation." Mrs. Helen's throat tightened. "May I ask why the sudden change?" "Does it matter?" It did matter. Because night shift meant no contact with Alina. No morning tea deliveries. No brief conversations while changing linens.

“When is that? My next shift?” “We’ll be revamping during the day. Everyone starts back tomorrow night as normal,” he said. “Great, see you tomorrow night then. I normally work the ten to two shift,” she said. “Sure, sweetheart, see you tomorrow night,” Nitro said. Klara grabbed Jamie’s hand and she could feel the other men watching her. She turned her head and saw Nitro talking to Bandit, both of them watching her as she headed to the door and the parking lot at the back.

Her gaze lifted, slow, trembling, following the shape of the hand, the sleeve, the chest, the silhouette standing beside her. The bar light flickered once, gold brushing over his jaw. Her pulse stuttered violently. “Drinking alone?” The voice was low, steady, wrapped in danger and heat. Sarah’s lips parted, breath shallow. But before her mind could form the name, the lights dimmed again, swallowing his face into shadow. Only his hand remained, still holding hers, unmoving. The glass between them gleamed, untouched, waiting. And Sarah knew, deep in her bones, that nothing about this night was over.

ANDY’S POV I barely slept a wink last night and I seriously hate the fact I couldn’t because I tried so much to just close my eyes but my own words kept hunting me. Maybe I was too harsh on Angela last night and I realized that like few hours into the night. I run my hand through my hair as I swing my feet off the bed and walk into the living room. I did not have dinner yesterday because of what happened and I was feeling so hungry right now. I step into the kitchen to fix something for myself, and settle for some leftover pizza, literally wolfing it down in seconds

Chapter 3 ~ Valerie's POV ========= As the following day arrived, the glow of the morning shone into my bedroom reflecting on my face and obstructing my sleep. Despite my eyes still laced with tiredness from last night, I looked at my side and found Dante still lying. And then I decided to return to sleep when my eye direction moved to the wall clock close to my bed and suddenly I remembered I was going to work. Instantly, I stood up from my bed, leaving Dante still sleeping soundly on my bed as I rushed into the bathroom so as not to be late for work.

" Gideon smiled bitterly. "Yeah...I'll miss you," Isabel said as she kissed Gideon on the lips. Gideon promised, "I'll come here after work, I'll make time for you Isabel." Isabel gave a nod. "I put my trust in you, Gideon." Gideon smiled and hugged Isabel again. "Can I stay with you all night?" he requested. Isabel looked at him and smiled. ________ Freya couldn't sleep in the middle of the night because she was still thinking about Gideon's words to her, especially the fact that he and Isabel were in a relationship.

They only offered her a part-time job, but that was enough to add to the pocket money Eder had given her. Wearing black jeans and a plain white t-shirt, she waited for a jeep on the highway. It was only seven o'clock in the evening, so there were still plenty of cars and people around. Fortunately, Senen visited her this afternoon, and she was able to call Nida and Eder. "Lyzza, you're already here," the person who interviewed her earlier when she applied for the job said. "Faith's shift starts at seven thirty until ten. Change your clothes and start serving customers' orders."
