Nivia POV By the fifth night, the darkness felt quieter. Not kinder, just…waiting. Classes had dragged. People moved like their bodies were borrowed, like every step cost them something. The water had stayed just barely drinkable from the staff lines. The boils were still there, less angry than before, but stubborn. The sky stayed a dull lid over the world, the sun hiding somewhere behind it. Yet the wraiths had been almost silent all day. They watched instead.

Its body was covered in lifeless black eyes, and from its back extended like wings of sharp mist. At the centre of its indistinct face, there were only two pale lights... looking directly at him. They were noting down something and then they moved backwards into the decontamination zone. I walked down the stairs slowly with my mentor and I held in a breath as through the glass and staff taking off their hazmat suits, I could see the contamination zone. I could see that there was row after row of cages of roaring alphas chained. I flinched with the betas with the sound increasing while Dr. Dawson stood his ground and smirked. "Those are people in cages?" I stuttered out my sentence wiping my eyes as I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
