In a dimly lit room, Tanya stood before a crystal ball. Her gaze was fixed on the swirling images within it. The ball showed various scenes from around the city: the bustling market, the crowded streets, and most importantly, the water source that supplied the entire capital. Tanya frowned as she observed the Gamma Warriors guarding the water source, their vigilant eyes scanning the area for any sign of trouble.

We were the storm that would answer her fury with fire of our own. ********* Night poured like ink across the Watchers’ stronghold, no stars, no moon, just a suffocating stretch of black sky pressing down. I couldn’t sleep, and I wasn’t sure I even wanted to. My skin felt too tight. My blood too loud. I stood alone in the candlelit corridor outside the chamber we’d been given. The flames danced strangely tonight, longer, flickering in odd directions, almost whispering to me.

Lastly, he would do what it took to continue to have his pull over the immortal world. “What did it look like?” Elias pushed to his feet, slowly. “War. It looked like war.” His gaze dropped to his feet, before locking on Elias. “We need to send a spy for that chimera that was here earlier. She threatened to bring war.” “Did Lily show her to you?” “Not exactly, but she was there. Her visions are so in-detailed.” Donte shuttered.

Now a once-whole blue planet floated with just particles of itself as it drifted across this dark, lifeless plain. In a different plane lied a primordial creature of the night finding solace in the eternal night that plagued his castle, the whistle and Chimes of fate had stirred his old blood awake. He knew that times were finally changing, and it seemed he had to get back to the game. "I wonder how Netherndel is faring, it's time I get back" his deep red eyes shone with a dangerous glint as he looked across the darkness, his eyes seemed to bypass the veil between planes for his gaze had a godly presence that came with it.

The message read: DO NOT LET THE CRYSTAL TOUCH THE WATER. Silence. Then another line. THE MONSTER WILL FEEL IT. Thomas immediately gripped the crystal tighter. Then Henry pushed the boat. The vessel slid forward. Into a hidden tunnel beneath the lighthouse. Into darkness. Then the tunnel opened. And suddenly— they were on the ocean. The real ocean. The raging ocean. The storm immediately attacked them. Waves. Rain. Wind. Everything. Yet somehow— the Night Runner kept moving. Smoothly. Almost effortlessly. Like the sea welcomed it.

She could walk in absolute darkness and never stumble. The usual warmth radiated from the bowl, steam rose into the air, blurring the boundaries between the shore and the sea. Throwing the dress on the rocks, Nocté dived into the warming pit. Two men appeared from behind the rocks. Moving their half-fins half-legs, the newts watched the exile. Her delinquency was much heavier than theirs.

“Even compared to what we’ve faced already, there are dangers still to come.” I glance at him, surprised by the warning in his voice. It’s foreboding, almost like his words are coming from the Waters themselves, and not from him. River, of course, mutters something under his breath, his usual arrogance slipping back into place as he stretches out on his blanket. I ignore him, focusing instead on the quiet, steady rhythm of Maerilee’s breathing. As the others settle in for the night, I keep my eyes on the shadows, my senses alert. The Bright Waters may hold the answers we’re searching for, but I know better than to let my guard down. Danger is always waiting, always lurking just out of sight.

And I still owed Noelle like seven-fifty and a new coffee mug— I wasn't, in any way—shape, or form—ready for the Midnight Fucking Cowboy to descend into the darkness of the Void Beast. If I thought the earlier explosion of wild magic sounded like a bomb going off, this was like being at ground zero for an atomic bomb. I suppose I am relieved or at most curious but my thoughts quickly shift from this, and my eyes glaze over, stopping as the water flows over a bucket and another is placed. I move as if from memory, and pump again. My head is not in the company of the slaves around me. I barely hear the girls talk though I am aware someone speaks to me, once or twice but I do not recall if it was an insult, a taunt, or mere words. I nod mindlessly along, for I think of things far deeper. My gaze trails to the western wing. Where they say the Night Wolf lives, locked in between walls. If the master is this lonely just being associated with him, then he is far- far more.
