I don’t know why, but something is rotten in my gut and it’s never wrong. We storm through the building, Roddy’s being the last room at the end of the long ass hallway. The door is locked and Grouch sticks his ear to it, then backs up and kicks it open. The immediate stench of death I know all too well hits my nose and I can’t believe nobody has noticed it. It’s at least fifteen doors from mine. Missile and Grouch storm in, but I can already see the lifeless body of Ryan “Roddy” Grimes on the bed. I step in the room and see a needle sticking right out of his fucking arm. His skin is already discolored, he’s been dead a couple days. And nobody even realized it. Some brotherhood we are.

The guy in front of me is shorter than Ryan’s 6’3” by a few inches. I exhale. Ryan lived in goofy graphic T-shirts his mom picked up for him at the local thrift store, and this guy is wearing a kind of ridiculous blazer. I inhale. The guy in front of me has thick, muscular arms. Despite his height and his few seasons on the basketball team, Ryan hated sports and barely had enough muscle to lift some of his older cameras. And the most important one? The Dana in my mind taps her pencil against her clipboard. Ryan is dead. The guy in front of me isn’t Ryan because I watched Ryan die, and I remember every second like it was yesterday. I exhale shakily and relax my grip on the desk.

Johnson dragged Mike's body to a corner before disappearing into the night. He came out of Diseya, returning to where Huck was waiting for him with a smile. "Did you take care of it, Johnson?" Johnson shrugged. "It's a shame, really. I got there just in time to see Henry and Mike shoot each other at the same time. They're both dead now." Huck was furious. "So, these two idiots never respected me to begin with! They tried to take all the money for themselves seeing such a big opportunity but ended up dying at each other's hands. I guess that's a pretty decent ending."

"Mr. Saunders… He's dead!" "Bullshit!" Zane roared, slapping Brody hard across the face. Blood trickled from the man's nose, but he dared not retaliate. "I swear it's true, Mr. Farrell. His body—it's outside!" Zane's face drained of color as he rushed outside, his gut screaming denial. In the courtyard, Owen's lifeless body lay sprawled on the ground, a massive hole in his chest. Blood pooled beneath him, dark and chilling.

Did all die , or maybe he is the one who died , I can’t believe it , yet I can’t just favor their death over him , I cant , I am crying their death , and I don’t want him dead either , I know now he would not die . a walking big shadow is now breaking through the fanfare, walking while dragging a big body behind him I can’t believe is it him , I got up , confused and shaking from just the idea. That body was thrown out high over the fence to the leader who stood there shaking, it was the biggest one of the culprits, but he is no longer here with us .

Maybe today was the day I died. My eyes closed. At least Olivia was still alive. But my eyes couldn’t have closed for long because when I opened them again, the bikers who had been driving just ahead of our car were turning around. I grabbed a rifle and without a second thought stepped out of the car as clean bait. I heard one of the engines rev louder and one of the bikes shot forward. My bullet sliced his tires open and he and his bike went flying and crashing to the other side of the road.

“What happened?” I take a deep breath. “One of the guys died on the spot. His throat was ripped open... I don’t even want to get into the details. The other one... he managed to stay alive long enough for Julian, the pack doctor, to get to him. But... he didn’t make it. He struggled, Elijah. It was a fucking mess.” Elijah’s voice goes low, almost... mournful. “God. That’s... terrible. I’m so sorry, Nina.”

We both looked up. Damien was standing at the bottom of the staircase with his jacket off and his sleeves rolled up, looking between me and my father with an expression I could not fully read. "Thomas Ward," he said. "Mr Voss," my father said. "How did you get in." "The east wall," I said. "Roland had him map the perimeter months ago." Damien was quiet for a second. Then he looked at my father. "What do you know." My father told him everything. The statement Roland had ready, the fake witness, the three journalists already briefed. He spoke fast and without stopping and Damien listened the same way, standing at the bottom of the stairs with his arms crossed and his face doing nothing visible

The loud yelling and screaming from outside had me sitting upright rather abruptly. I hurried to the window in my sleepy state to see the commotion only for my eyes to widen in surprise when I found a crowd of people charging forward on our street. "April!" The door burst open as Jason hurried inside. "Are you alright?" He grabbed my arms pulling me to his chest making sure I was alright. "I'm fine. What's all this commotion outside?" I asked.
