Bloodmoon Rising
“We came to warn you. And to help you survive what’s coming next.”
Rhydian’s hand tightened around mine.
“What comes next?” I said.
The figure turned its eyes toward the eastern horizon, where the dark line I’d seen before had widened, risen. And finally, I understood, it wasn’t coming toward us. It was rising.
“Everything suppressed for four hundred years is coming back at once,” the figure said. “Memory. Grief. Blood. Power.” Then it looked at me, and for the first time, its voice trembled ever so slightly, a flicker of fear. “But suppression never just went one way. The network didn’t only hide things from people. It hid things in people. And now, those are waking up too.”
