Wayne dropped like a stone, wheezing on the floor. I watched, stunned and furious, as Zeke leaned over his body, his voice low and lethal. "He is your Alpha. Not mine. Not no more." Wayne didn't respond. Couldn't. He was out cold. My hands shook with barely contained fury. I sat back in my chair, my tongue running over the wound I'd made on my lip, tasting the metallic tang of blood. He just declared war on me. My Beta. The one I had raised up from nothing. My warriors had assembled at the heart of Pearl Crest, and I addressed them, telling them why it was essential to stop our invasion and return home. The war was not what we expected, but we had victory regardless. They groaned and complained but accepted the victory. In the coming days, a roster of warrior wolves that would remain at base was made, and those who weren't chosen were sent home. Jett and I stayed back at base for another week before we finally made it back home.

My mother noticing that she just laughed. Well it was not a secret to her that we drank. She would even slip us a few in special occasions. " Honey please leave the child alone." My mother defended. * The celebration quickly cut short. ' We need your assistance at the borders. There's a rogue attack and we could use a hand. Now be here as quickly as you can' The four of them are disturbed by a mind link from Alpha Matthew. They look at each other stunned before sprinting to their feet.

The old lady then gulped a mouthful of saliva before she started relaying the information she had received, "He… he is alive. " A sudden roar was heard from the darkness. The roar was so loud that even the old lady standing shook a little bit. Not long after, another set of words flowed towards the old lady, "Who? Who are you talking about? " The old lady shuddered. She quickly used one of her spells to create a protection barrier around herself. After confirming that she was fine she softly continued, " The one for whom you are waiting. The one for whom you stayed hidden. He... he is still alive. "

And Gwen’s scream… it was the sound of her world breaking apart. “Raya, please, no! Do not leave me!” Gwen sobbed, her voice was raw and filled with desperation. “You cannot leave me, please, I need you, do not go, please!” Angela’s voice mocking as she shouted over the chaos. “So much for your protectors. One by one, they will all fall, until she has no one left but death to welcome her.” I snapped, my wolf letting out a loud growl. With a violent surge, I finally broke free from two of the warriors holding me, throwing them aside, and I began killing everyone in my sight, Council warriors or Rogues. Nothing mattered anymore.

Elena and Luca were in position on the roof of a nearby building, their rifles trained on the entrance to the warehouse where Salvatore had holed up. As the team moved in, gunfire erupted, echoing through the night. It was over in minutes. Salvatore was dead, his operation in ruins. Elena watched through the scope of her rifle as Dante’s men cleared the area, her heart pounding in her chest. They had won this battle, but the war was far from over. Back at the safe house, the mood was tense but triumphant. One more of Lorenzo’s allies had fallen, and they were one step closer to their goal. But Elena couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to go wrong.
