The door cracked open, and Scarlet peered at me, fear visible in her eyes. “Who gave you permission to lock this door?” My voice was cold and sharp, “I-I’m sorry,” she stammered, eyes darting to the floor. “I’m just very used to it... I won’t do it again.” Without waiting for an explanation, I pushed the door open fully and stepped inside, slamming it shut behind me with a loud thud. “Listen carefully.” My voice low but firm . “This entire arrangement hinges, The moment anyone catches on to what’s happening here—just one person—I’ll strip you of everything. Your freedom, your existence... gone. Do you understand me?”

A man on the boat reached out his hand to help me up. His face was hidden in shadow, but I could see a scar running down his cheek. I watched the flames and bid farewell to my former self. From this moment on, there was no more Serena Ferrari. From now on, I would become my own queen.

It’s another corridor that leads to a stone staircase. We walk down the steps and come to another door. This place is a maze. She opens the door and the sounds of screams and shouts echo around us. Each cell is made of what looks like glass. You can see what each prisoner is doing. They are all in red scrubs, either sitting on their cots or leaning against the glass, watching who has just entered their home. When they see Rebel some step back. The fear in their eyes is evident. “Welcome to our prison. This is where our prisoners are held before we either take them through there or to another part of the mansion.” She points to a black door.

I made my way steadily across the hall, and began to walk briskly to the room scarlet was kept in. Once I got there, I dropped the tray at a random place and ran to her door which had been bolted. I turned the knob and saw it wasn't locked, it had just been bolted and so I took the bolts out of place and pushed the door open. Scarlet was there on the ground looking miserable, and I immediately switched to my pretense mode, after closing the door and wondering why she was like that. She looked at me with wary eyes and immediately sat up straight from the twisted position she had been in.
