He sees defiance even when the world around her wants her broken, submissive and quiet. He sees compliance so perfect it’s unnatural and seeing her about to be auctioned off makes him angry in a way he hasn’t felt in years. SORAYA KAELIS’S P.O.V. The first thing I notice when I wake up is the silence, and it’s not the hollow kind I’m used to,not the echoing metal-bar silence of the academy dormitories or the suffocating quiet of rooms meant to remind you that you are owned. This silence is… plush, soft and luxurious..

she said smiling that when she notice my mom's silence, she was hoping she wasn't disliked by my mom. "I've heard a lot about you from Nathan Mrs Howard, and I'm grateful that I finally get to meet you, Thank you for welcoming me here" She spoke warmly and my mom sighed, she really wished she hadn't talked to her but my mom is very nice despite being mad, she stayed cool... And a cold voice whispered from the shadows. “Game over? Not yet.” The door slammed shut behind us. The real fight had just begun. The cold, heavy silence in the room was suffocating. The darkness wasn’t just the absence of light—it was a presence, a suffocating weight pressing down on me and Justin like an invisible hand trying to crush our spirits. To be continued...

We sit there in silence for a while, waiting for the lights to come up. The place got really quiet, I watched as many people pulled out their phones and switched on the flashlights; the very few moderators that had come, made their way towards the electricity circuit to check the problem. After one whole minute, the lights weren't back but i watched as people visibly relaxed much more and continued having conversation. I feel the very immense need to keep dead silent, It's was as though someone was lurking in the shadows and i was trying to hide from it. The chamber did not snap back to quiet so much as it folded — like a giant leaf closing on itself, the sound of wings and breath muted under the weight of something enormous and final. At first came the smallest noises: a throat cleared, a chair scraping as someone adjusted position to listen harder. Then, like a tide catching on a cliff, reactions spilled out.

Neither spoke. Nate stared at him. Max stared back. And in the silence between them, everything they'd spent months refusing to say seemed to gather at once. The door remained open. Neither of them moved. Neither looked away.
