He has made my child into a ceiling. I have to fight under it. So I burn small. Again. Stupid word. Nothing in this room stays small. The relic beyond the transparent wall flares through the glass. The silver webbing across my stomach lifts like wire under skin. The child wakes toward the fight with a violence that steals my breath. Heat slams down my arms. Silence filled the chamber. No one spoke. No one could. Then, without warning, the Mirror rippled again. A new image began to form. But this time… It wasn’t the past. It was the future. The first figure to appear was Elara. She stood alone beneath a sky consumed by crimson fire. A shattered crown rested at her feet. Blood stained her hands. And across from her… Someone stepped out of the smoke. Elara couldn’t see their face. Only one thing was clear.

I heard Papa calling from downstairs, but I couldn’t stop. “Come on, Brigid! I sighed and ran my fingers through my curly hair. I looked up at the door. I screamed loudly as I saw her for the first time in front of me. "Don't worry, Mira. The Angels are coming. They could not save me but they will rescue my beloved baby sister." She said and I jumped off of my bed. I went towards her. I wanted to touch her but as I went closer, she suddenly disappeared. Right in the large mirrors in front of me, a black cloud of smoke forms unexpectedly as the lights begin to blink repeatedly. The black cloud explodes into dark purple light and a figure forms itself in the mirror, his familiar purple eyes glimmering back at me.
