Trigger warning - This chapter may contain themes that might upset some readers. Use of violence against women and rape. Elliot POV I stretch my legs, and my feet feel cold. I open my eyes, one at a time trying to figure out where the fuck I am, and I feel something heavy on my chest. I look around, and I can see Hazel. Her eyes were still shut, her hair spread between my chest and the bed. I smile, looking down at her and slowly rub my fingers on her back, her body tenses up, and she opens her eyes.

He sighed, a soft sound of mild frustration, and turned, his eyes finally meeting mine. And that was it. The spark. It wasn’t a sudden conflagration, no fireworks exploding in the quiet library. It was more subtle, a gentle igniting of something that felt both brand new and strangely familiar. His eyes, a warm hazel that seemed to hold a thousand unspoken stories, held mine for a beat longer than a casual glance. A faint smile touched his lips, and I felt a blush creep up my neck, a betraying crimson that I hoped he wouldn't notice.

Not flame. A pair of molten, lidless eyes blink into view. Unknown Voice (hissing): "The spark walks again. And the gods… remember."

To be honest, my libido went up, causing irregular pulses in several parts of my body. We arrived at a room. A woman with horns and red eyes flashed, intercepted. "A new girl again?" She asked. "She's not a prisoner for you to take her soul," Kevin argued without answering the horned woman's question. "So she's not my meal candidate?" I started to get goosebumps. Meal candidate? So the horned girl was going to eat me and Jack brought me here on purpose to... “Jack… who is that woman?” I whispered. “She is… she is… my wife….”

"I might as well not do the homework from yesterday" I closed my eyes, but the memory of the kiss I shared with the hazel eyes girl played in my mind. **Hey! Enjoyed the chapter? Do leave a review. Follow my Facebook page @Chimdi Jane Samuel ~Jane♥️

There was a pause given by Bryan for them to replenish each other's oxygen supply in their lungs. They should not run out of breath just because of the meeting of two lips that refused to separate. Their eyes had already said many things without their mouths needing to say them. There was still a trace of their closeness left because of the saliva thread between them, slightly noticeable. "Are you... kidding me?" asked Celine once she found a bit of sanity. Although her heart was no longer beating normally, at least the brain she had could still be used to think clearly. Although...

The craving burned deep, raw and unfiltered, and I fought to keep my desire in check, knowing I was on the edge of losing control. She looked up and her eyes met mine. The room seemed to fall silent. Her gaze was cautious, wary, but in that instant, there was an undeniable spark—something electric, like a wild flame flickering to life inside her. I felt my breath catch, my heart pounding harder. The world around us faded, and all I could see was her—her face, her scent, the subtle tremor in her stare. In that moment, both of us whispered the same word—mate.

How did that blue fog came from buddy and how did we reached in that place? Why did that birds place the tiara on my head and who were those two mens with black eyes? Just thinking about them a shiver ran down my spine. However, at the corner of my mind a thought was disturbing me. why I am feeling sparks thinking about them. *** Your thoughts on the chapter? My eyes flash wide open as I gasp awake, my breathing rapid, my heart drumming inside me. The sunken eyes of the girl stare back at me, simply watching me quietly as the sunlight peaks behind her. "I could not save him," she whispers. •|•|• I hope you enjoyed the update! Feel free to leave your questions down below. Please leave a review of the book! I appreciate all the comments. He found her in the chapel, surrounded by glowing shards, her hands pressed against the mirror’s cracked surface. “Mira, stop!” She turned, eyes glimmering with light—not human light. “It’s the only way.” He reached for her. “Please—don’t.” She smiled faintly. “You told me once to stop making promises. So this time, I’ll make a choice.” And before he could move, she whispered one word: “Release.” Light burst from her chest—blinding, pure—and every shard in the room shattered into dust. When the glow faded, she was gone. Only silence remained. --- End of Chapter 8
