I needed this walk—needed air that didn’t taste like grief and confusion.
The snow stretched endlessly, powdery and untouched beyond the house, glittering like crushed diamonds under the pale sun.
“You should know he’d be pissed if he saw you out here,” the boy muttered.
I rolled my eyes and stepped closer, studying his snowman. “This is actually coming out nice.”
“Listen, you need to go back upstairs,” he pressed, clearly uncomfortable.
“I’ll handle Abaddon,” I said flatly. “Now let’s talk about your snowman.”
