“I think you’ve all had a long day.” My stepfather nodded. “You can take tomorrow for yourself, if you like. To rest. Your mother and I will see council to the council the next day. Infact all of you can take Tomorrow off.” ‘Yes!’ Jamie clapped her hands as she giggled. Kayden just gave a small nod. I couldn’t read his expression. He had a straight face, no emotion. “That’s fine,” my mother said. “Maybe we all need a day to settle down.”

The whole family froze. My brother blurted, "There's been some mistake, right? Isn't your boss's last name Scott?" The manager gave a courteous smile and replied, "Our boss has always been a Parker.
