I feel as though I have already failed this surreal destiny being laid out in front of me. Desperate for a change of topic, I jumped at the chance to continue our conversation about the night of my 18th Birthday. The Great Shift is what we refer to it as. Did anything strange happen during your first shift that hasn't happened since?" asked Marcus.

Vivian conceded, her tone a blend of relenting and caution. "Thank you so much, young lady. You are such a lifesaver," he expressed his gratitude, and a grateful smile adorned Vivian's face. "So, what's the name of the book you are looking for?" Vivian inquired, curiosity coloring her voice. "The White Death," he revealed, and Vivian's eyebrows shot up in surprise at the title. "What kind of book is that?" she asked, her curiosity piqued. "Supernatural," he replied, his gaze intensifying as he locked eyes with her.

Maybe if she were a little less impolite, I would have just brushed her off and focused on solely getting back at Gabriella for the embarrassment but no, she just had to talk down to me and that in my book, is unforgivable. We finally got inside the place and I swear, if I thought the exterior of the place was disgusting, I had no idea that it was only a tip of the iceberg. The interior looked, felt and smelt like a place where hundreds of people had died in a not so good way and it sent a crazy, creepy shiver down my spine. "I thought you said this is the best you've got?" I asked an unbothered Chris who simply glared at me briefly before looking away.

I touch its glass cover and to my surprise, it vanishes in just a snap. The book floats mid-air and emits blinding light. It starts glowing and the pages start to turn. A few moments afterward, the pages stop turning. The glow starts to vanish, and the book moves toward my hand. Just like the book I was reading earlier, it has a leather hardbound cover and its title are embroidered with gold. 'The Untold' I said as I've read the title. I told him how he whispered filthy things in my ear while his fingers slid between my thighs. I told him how I begged. How I cried out. How I woke trembling and wet. With every word, my body remembered. The heat. The ache. He didn't speak. But I felt him listening. When I stopped, I was breathless.
