“You want one thing, and your parents want another?” she mused while I nodded tightly.
She stared out into the rain, slowly shaking her head. “At least you should be grateful that you have parents who actually notice you. Parents who want what they think is best for you.” She paused, her voice dropping into a quiet tone. “You better appreciate what you have, kid."I WANTED TO TAKE OFFENSE AT HER WORD.
