Something inside me broke. The world shattered and fell silent.

“Like something was off. Even when nothing was wrong.” She swallowed. “And sometimes… things would happen.” The room stayed quiet. Listening. “What kind of things?” Lyra asked gently. Thalia hesitated again. Then— “Small things,” she said. “At first.” Her fingers tightened slightly. “Like what?” “…Things breaking,” she said. The elders exchanged a glance. “I didn’t touch them,” she added quickly. “They would just… crack. Or fall. Or stop working.” “And you didn’t question it?” the older man asked.

“Could he have noticed all this?” Just then, a memory flashed through my mind and soured my mood, killed my urges, and left me a broken girl again. I remembered Chris Westwood and how I was secretly dying for him, only for me to be used and dumped, and now my heart was creating a space for someone else just within a short period. I can’t believe this.
