Those Who Have Ears Let Them Hear Novels & Stories

“But I won’t hide from it anymore.” A sound echoed through the cathedral—distant, primal, a low thunderous hum like war drums stirring. Kael’s jaw tensed. “Then get ready… because that sound?” Dain nodded grimly. “It means someone bigger than the Hollow Court just heard you.” Elara stood taller. “Then let them come.” The sound intensified—a pulsing resonance that wasn’t just heard, but felt—in bones, in breath, in the whispering crawl of instinct. The earth itself seemed to brace for what came next.

“We should fight fair and square with the Lycan Pack!” “That’s right! We have every means to win against them, so there’s no need to attack behind their backs.” My ears felt so overwhelmed hearing their continuous high-pitched voices. It was as if my eardrums were ruptured. I caressed my right ear once, my face crumpling in irritation. “If there’s anything you have planned and haven’t told us, it’s the perfect time to tell us, because we won’t be considering hearing from you again after this.”

His voice was low and urgent, yet not panicked. My eyes blink slowly, trying to focus. That gnawing feeling won't go away. “Don't you hear that? Listen…” I solicited, not quite sure what I was hearing. Frowns formed on their faces, but they all did what I said and listened. -

Jared trembled. "Jared, don't run, focus. You can hear it if you listen, keep your eyes shut and listen". Jared heard Alex's voice but he couldn't see him. He was still in the cage of white but nevertheless, he shut his eyes more tightly and listened, just like Alex had told him to.

Blood dripping from my ears, I yelled. Something murmured into my bones. old. Horrible. * "The divine flame within you is a beacon, and now the wrath of those who lurk beyond mortal sight shall descend upon you." * The earth shuddered. The air grew heavier. * "You can't run. You can't hide. The time of reckoning is approaching. A pause—so oppressive that it made my breath catch. Then, one last murmur: * "They are already watching." *

Nevertheless, their eyes were widely opened to the persistent noise of the surrounding. Jion tried to reach for Minah who did the same to him. The noise became audible to their ears. Voices of people of audible speeches, instrument playing a melody and collective clapping of hands. Gradually, their eyes were cleared as if a mist removed from their very eyes and mouth freed letting them suck their breaths.

"Hear what? It’s quiet." "Exactly," Kael said, his voice trembling. "That’s not the system. That’s the valley. It’s waking up." From the depths of the valley, a sound began to rise—not the hum of electricity, but the sound of thousands of people stepping out into the light, their voices rising in a chaotic, beautiful, and terrifying chorus of uncertainty. "They're free," Arthur whispered, a grin spreading across his battered face. "The idiots actually did it." "No," Lucien said, watching the horizon. "We did it."

"I'm sure they have very good hearing as well Gen, let me go and get visuals in case this is another false alarm." I went, soundless and quiet. Then I saw them. Thousands. Fuck.

I turned my attention to him and saw him with his eyes closed, his brow furrowed, and his ears pointed in my direction. I frown and when I’m about to say something, they both open their eyes wide, but it’s Peter who says with a tender smile and a look of wonder, “I’m listening to our pup, love.” “We hear them too, Peter. We can hear them.”

As though he wasn't sure he wanted to answer. Finally he spoke. "'Those who listened became witnesses.'" Nobody liked the sound of that. A hunter near the back frowned. "What does that even mean?" "I have no idea." Rowan continued reading. Most of the text had been damaged. Only fragments remained. Yet those fragments were disturbing enough. "'They heard the call.'" "'They abandoned the old sky.'" "'They stood before the gate.'" His voice became quieter. Then he reached the final line. "'The faithful shall never close their eyes again.'"
