She used its physical thread. She had a small spool of ordinary, brown thread she used for repairs. She took it and, while pretending to meditate, she let a long piece drift from her fingers onto the immaculate lawn. She didn't form a picture. She just made a loose, messy tangle. A tiny snarl of imperfection in a world of order. Then, she went inside and waited.
