But the heat in Finn’s gaze told me I was not alone in being affected. “He can teach us how to…. You know…. Without causing the apocalypse?” “I hope so. He is responsible for forging the tethers. He handpicked us for each other, so it is my hope he will tell us why, as well teach us how to control the power of our bond.” The whisper of a breeze caused the hair on the back of my neck to stand on end. I threw my arm out to stop Finn and held my finger up to my mouth to indicate silence.

Cynthia pov: I was sitting in front of the mirror looking at my neck.I am in an Azrail shirt because he tore my top.Azrail told me to stay here and don't go anywhere from there.I am still confused about the tattoo. The shell was covered with black and white patterns, and it had two red eyes the size of ping-pong balls on its head. Floating above the Temptress' back was a crimson orb the size of a soccer ball. That was obviously the Temptress' core. Gus had been right. This beast was really tough to deal with. It seemed to see through Gus' plan to lure it out and had prepared two strategies. If attacking me failed, it could immediately switch to its backup plan. It had actually brought its core that was normally buried deep underground out for battle. When Gus saw this, he couldn't help but sneer. "You beast. You're not completely stupid, I suppose."

We were in the Loom of Stars. It was a dimension of vertical light. Massive, glowing threads stretched from a bottomless floor to an infinite ceiling, vibrating with a low-pitched hum that made my Sun-Walker marks glow with a blinding intensity. Each thread was a life, a timeline, a possibility. "Don't touch the threads," Jackson warned, his voice sounding hollow and metallic. "If you touch a thread that isn't yours, you'll be pulled into a different life. You might wake up as a human in a world without wolves, or as a corpse in the square".

"You mean—" "I mean," Adeyemi interrupted, his voice a low vibration of pure power, "that the threads are being trimmed. I had nothing to do with the mother anyways. By tomorrow, We will have our merger, our contracts, and our peace. The girl will be a ghost, and my son will be a man. Whether he likes it or not." Tony Williams raised his glass. "To the merger, then. And to ghosts." They clinked glasses. The sound was sharp, like a bone snapping.

He smiled. The house was exactly like the one I described to him. Within a week we moved out of the apartment and into the house. I officially joined Thorn cider and helped Nick with running a branch of the company. My admin skills came in handy and my new skills I learned from my promotions came in handy with promoting one of their new lines along with handling the business meetings to secure new contracts. I was also given an opportunity to design a new label for their new launch. Life could not be going any better.
