Kaynon's eyes adjusted to his surroundings as he moved though the tunnels easily. He knew the scent of Cilyna's children and followed his nose. Rounding a bend, he caught the scent of a few vampires. Catching them off guard, he barreled into them with teeth bared. He snapped ones neck and ripped another's head clean from his shoulders, never slowing his pace knowing Ciaran and his men would finish them off while he continued his search for Cilyna's twins. An alarm system was triggered, alerting anyone within the catacombs of their arrival. He pushed his paws faster through the tunnels.

The creature blinked, but it was too late because Taino had swung in close and with a large knife he opened up the neck arteries of the animal who coughing on its own blood soon stumbled and fell down. My eyes traced from the gore of the creature’s demise to the imagery of Taino with his back to me and knife held at the ready. Then I groaned as I saw more of the huge monsters appear, but they seemed oddly docile in manner and looking at Taino they ducked their heads up and down submissively. The fingers of Taino’s empty hand beckoned me and scrambling up off the rocks I rushed up behind him. Being very close to him I stared point-blank at the flexed curvature of a very powerful man’s back.

He flew backwards, dropped to the arena floor, and then frantically rolled around in the sand, trying to put out the flames. I heard the other hybrids gasp as they watched Tana's wolf extinguish her flames and then pounce onto Finn. She pinned him to the ground and then gently placed her canines around his neck.
